About Us Our focus is on the supply of stabilisers for window profiles, foamed profiles, technical profiles and etruded sheets made from rigid PVC. It is our target to develop customised products based on individual requirements that add value and competitive advantage for our customers. We are not just a producer and supplier. Our objective is to build partnership and close cooperation with our customers. Every customer benefits from our know-how, our long term eperience and our service. IKA Innovative Kunststoffaufbereitung GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1994. We are located at Wolfen near Leipzig. Our team conduct product development, production and quality assurance with care and professionalism to ensure that we produce stabilisers of the highest quality and consistency. We are certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001. IKA has one of Europe s most state of the art production plants and we are producing stabilisers with the latest technology. We ensure that all the right steps are in place at IKA to enable your company s requirements to be delivered with complete satisfaction IKA Management We respond quickly and are fleible to customers needs. We can produce large orders as well as specialities in small order sizes with high efficiency and precision. In Research and Development we are focussing on the development of new sustainable Calciumacetylacetonate free Calcium Zinc stabilisers with optimised properties. 3
Stabilisers for PVC EuroStab Calcium Zinc Stabilisers With the latest generation of EuroStab Calciumacetylacetonate free Calcium Zinc stabilisers we offer tailor-made systems as effective replacements for Lead, Barium Zinc and Tin stabilisers. These products are highly efficient, with low dosage levels and cost competitiveness. Lead Stabilisers The stabilisation of PVC with Lead based products has been established for decades. Through the continuous development of high performance and efficient Lead stabilisers, the Lead concentration in our stabilisers is being steadily reduced. The PVC industry within the European Union has committed to phase out Lead based stabilisers by 2015. We are supporting our customers in this transition to Lead free products. 4
Quality is Our Driving Force For us, quality begins with the selection of raw materials. We only work with suppliers who manufacture according to certified quality management systems. We place the highest requirements on product quality and consistency and we control all goods supplied into us. In addition, our Quality and Environmental management systems are registered to DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001. In R & D we are focussing on stabiliser development with etensive laboratory investigations and customer evaluation to ensure that our products meet all requirements. We put special emphasis on early weathering evaluations in our customers formulations to ensure long term performance of the end products. In parallel we are also conducting R & D and testing of new stabiliser systems. Here we are looking at the interaction of all the individual components to identify all potential synergies. These processes result in the efficient use of materials to optimise costs at our customers. Our quality control laboratory continually supports the production. Each product batch is tested in the customer s formulation to verify quality and consistency against the standard. It is only when all results are within the defined tolerances that the product can be released for customer use. The certificate of analysis for each product is based on the test data. With this comprehensive and complete control we ensure that only products of the required quality can be delivered to customers. The long term eperience and knowhow of the IKA Technical Service team is essential to ensure successful recipe development at new customers and optimisation of recipes at eisting customers. This technical service epertise is continually developing. Every IKA customer gets stabiliser systems which have been developed with their individual hardware and their raw material selections in mind. Using this approach, optimised properties are achieved in our customer s formulation at low cost. To keep the competitive advantage IKA is not only following the newest developments and trends globally, but is also the initiator for new trends within the industry. Our target is for long lasting customer satisfaction through the creation of innovative stabiliser systems of the highest quality and consistency supported by ecellent technical service. 5

Production Raw material dosing station Weighing into the mier container Miing Homogenisation blender 10 We have two production plants, one for Calcium Zinc and one for Lead stabilisers. The production plants are located within separate buildings which prevents any contamination issues. The Calcium Zinc plant is state of the art and one of the most modern in Europe. The production process is fully automated and computer controlled. All stages of the process are documented and completely traceable from the raw materials to the final stabiliser. Due to the high number of dosing stations, all recipe components can be added in one production run. For each of our customers, an individual recipe is developed and produced. Raw materials are dosed with a high precision balance into the mier container. This is very important to ensure the high quality and consistency of our products. The miing is a two stage process. The first stage is to mi all the different components within the mier container. The second stage is to homogenise several of these mies within a blending unit. This results in an optimum product quality and consistency. This technology and process enables us to achieve the best conditions for the manufacture of the highest quality customer products.
