With ISO 29990, learning service providers have in their hands the first internationally applicable standard that focuses on the single most important asset organizations and facilities in this sector have: the learning services themselves. The standard can be certified against, making it eminently suitable for providing evidence of the quality and competence of learning service providers to all relevant stakeholders above all, the learners themselves. The objective of this International Standard is to provide a generic model for quality professional practice and performance, and a common reference for learning service providers (LSPs) and their clients in the design, development and delivery of nonformal education, training and development. This International Standard uses the term learning services rather than training in order to encourage a focus on the learner and the results of the process, and to emphasize the full range of options available for delivering learning services. This International Standard focuses on the competency of LSPs. It is intended to assist organizations and individuals to select an LSP who will meet the organization's needs and expectations for competency and capability development and can be used to certify LSPs. THE ROAD TO ISO 29990 CERTIFICATION During the implementation process, DQS offers an optional gap analyss to identify potential for improvement. This enables you to prepare for the certification audit as efficiently as possible. OPTIONAL GAP ANALYSIS Once your company is ready, we set the audit date and select an auditor with the necessary experience and competences in your sector. PLANNING During the initial assessment, we evaluate whether your company meets the requirements of ISO 29990. The audit duration depends on the size and complexity of your operations. INITIAL AUDIT After the audit, you will receive a detailed report, outlining our findings and describing the potential for improvement. AUDIT REPORT Should there be any non-conformities, you will have three months time to correct them and implement the appropriate corrective measures. As soon as all non-conformities have been closed, the ISO 29990 Certificate will be issued, with a validity of three years. The certificate will be published in the publicly accessible DQS Database. [ CORRECTIVE ACTIONS CERTIFICATE ] DQS CERTIFICATE DATABASE In order to maintain the validity of the certificate, yearly survellance audts will take place in the second and third year of the certification cycle. A detailed audit report is part of our service. The certificate will expire three years after the initial audit. In case you wish to renew the certificate, a new threeyear-cycle begins.
