How In-line Coating? Worldwide competition forces film manufacturers to offer added value to their film production lines. PAGENDARM offers with its proven single and double sided in-line coaters a unique solution to upgrade an existing film stretching line in order to eliminate one process step. The inline coater allows enhancement to the film between the MDO and TDO just before cross stretching.
Applications and Benefits The following applications can be achieved with in-line coating (e.g.): Primer coatings to improve printability/ adhesion in metallization processes Release coatings for general packaging uses Antistatic coatings Special coatings for special applications Benefits: Compact design Trolley design allows preparation/ cleaning outside Easy film threading Easy film transport without coating as well

Coating Head AGS 2500 S
Coating Head AGS 2500 S The pressure in the barrier chamber (p1) is being used for the following functions: Building up a liquid seal at the doctor blade to prevent air entrainment (no foaming) into the coating head Improved exchange of the residual liquid inside the engraved volume due to acceleration of the coating liquid against the roller rotation Filling of the partial emptied cells The pressure in the dosing chamber (p2) is being used for the following functions Controlled overfilling of the engraved volume by additional volume flow superimposing the roller rotation Coat weight adjustment independent to other process functions e.g. prevention of air entrainment 25. bis 28. Advantages of Inline Coating Benefits: 1. Perfect coating profile 2. Reproducible adjustment of an accurate cross and length profile 3. Wider operation window related to one engraved roll (wider range of product applications) 4. Cost savings due to low volume of returning coating liquid The result: Accurate coatings having a brilliant transparency and a shiny appearance - free of foam
Comparison between Meyer bar and AGS Mayer-bar Fountain-die System: Proven Technology Cheep system Many vendors Only low speeds achievable Increased threat of foaming and surface defects Not recommended for highest quality products (A-Grade) Pagendarm AGS 2500S System: Best market performance for high quality coatings No foaming - elimination of surface defects due to patented 2 chamber design Highest quality and thus highest output of A-Grade film material highest Profitability Proven at high speeds +400m/min Approved on hight quality level worldwide
