In my opinion this type of activity is what I call a best practice and I would certainly strongly suggest to Deans that they take a look at this kind of learning experience as a best practice and think about the role it could play in their own curriculum. Dr. Bruce Magid Dean Brandeis International Business School Gear up for the accelerating pace of change The way that the world works is changing rapidly. While emerging trends and new business sectors in the marketplace are creating opportunities for employment, a college degree alone is no longer enough to secure key positions in most fields. Businesses and organizations want to hire prospects with sophisticated, critical thinking skills that allow them to contribute from day one. In order to attract top students, institutions need to demonstrate innovative learning methods that provide thorough preparation for post-graduate life. 4 Connect. Work. Lead.

The Education Alliance Program is designed to build on the value of a classroom education by providing students and faculty with access to real-world business tools, and projects that encourage them to engage in critical thinking and problem solving. The intent is to give both technology and business students a competitive edge as they pursue career opportunities, and provide an experiential understanding of the interaction among various departments how IT supports business management, and how business needs define IT projects, for example so they can better prepare for the future. The Education Alliance Program will also establish vital think tanks, fostering dialogue between institutions and development teams that will help businesses and partners discover new approaches to solving problems. Using real customer data and micro-vertical case studies, select participants will be able to influence industry-specific thought leadership and application development. Education Alliance Program offers a practical and scalable model that can help participating institutions hire and retain great faculty, and drive excellence in curriculum development and delivery, and graduate more students with skills that will make them highly employable. The Education Alliance Program strives to provide students with opportunities to gain hands-on experiences, demonstrate and strengthen critical thinking skills, and ultimately thrive in the workplace. We are successful when hiring companies (including Infor) can report back to our alliance members that the students they ve employed require less training and are delivering value from their first day on the job. Why Infor is investing in the Education Alliance Program Infor is a 13,000 person company, and our customer success requires us to train a lot of people internally and externally. We are turning to institutions like Brandeis, CUNY, Pace and others to create a talent pipeline. We leverage the same curriculum used to train our customers and partners to train institution solution leads and instructors. We provide ongoing support and speakers so instructors can successfully teach integrated courses, and for the students who do well in those, we prioritize available internship and open roles. Our goal is to hire the top students before other businesses can. Charles Phillips CEO, Infor 10 Connect. Work. Lead.

Infor applications push the user experience past the basic needs of technology, creating pleasurable and meaningful work experiences. To accomplish that, Infor starts with the end-user experience by immersing itself to gain a deep understanding of how users interact with software and what that means in the context of their work. Institutions that participate in the Infor Education Alliance Program will not only gain knowledge and skill from this comprehensive perspective, but will also help to articulate and influence next-generation technologies for the next-generation work force.
