Ballast Mats ATP-DR Profiled
Trelleborg ATP-DR Ballast Mat For Transit, Commuter or Railroad use, the Ballast Mat is designed to: Reduce degradation of ballast where depth is restricted By reducing ballast stress, Ballast Mat extends the life of any ballast depth, particularly restricted depths. Reduce ground or structure-borne vibrations Ground-borne vibration that might otherwise enter the foundations of neighboring buildings, travel through its structure and causing walls, floors and ceilings to pulsate, recreating noise known as Secondary Noise, noise that can not be reduced by closing curtains etc. Reduce impact forces on structures by acting like shock absorber The use of ballast mats results in longer vertical rail bending. This spreads the load over a greater area. Spreading the load reduces local stress on the structure. Compensate for restricted ballast depth Trelleborg ATP-DR Ballast Mats are produced from natural rubber elastomer, specifically selected to produce required performance characteristics. The fabric reinforced upper surface permits ballast to nest for track bed stability. The underside of mat has a regular pattern of projections that act like springs or shock absorbers and provide the correct shape factor to meet the stated performance and generous provision for drainage. Trelleborg ATP-DR Ballast Mats are generally supplied in rolls or precut lengths to suit project needs. Precut lengths are palletised for sling and/or fork lift handling on site. At-Grade Installation A typical At-Grade installation on asphalt. The Ballast Mat was brought to site pre-rolled by contractor to ease handling and positioning. The joint flap, which is an integral part of the top surface, is secured to the top of the adjacent mat after the gap between mats is fully closed. Topside Underside
On Bridge Installation Ballast Mat laid on waterproof membrane. Cutting Ballast Mat (under 30 seconds). Two-man teams rolling Ballast Mat into place for immediate installation. Installed Ballast Mat, prior to securing and sealing of top edge.
In Street Installation Ballast Mat in Support Tub. Also, shows segment of first pour of track slab. Isolating obstruction with Ballast Mat. Pouring of first section of track slab (shown completed in above photo). Ballast Mat Top Seal installed - now ready for track construction, then second pour.
