Introduction to Training & Development The Vision Eide Bailly s Training and Development department is designed to provide lifelong learning opportunities that give our staff, firm and clients the competitive edge. Our Mission Our mission is to provide staff with continuous career development to enable them to provide exceptional service to our clients by responding to changes in the marketplace, maximizing the use of technology, recognizing emerging opportunities and demonstrating a willingness to go the extra mile. Our clients choose Eide Bailly because they expect the best! Knowledge and experience is critical to our ability to provide top-quality service to our clients. The learning at Eide Bailly never stops! Through Eide Bailly s Training and Development department, staff have access to a wealth of training opportunities. Courses for all levels of expertise are divided into job families as listed below: Core Curriculum: orientation, technology core competencies, sexual harassment awareness, performance management, marketing and communications. Technical: Audit Watch, ProSystems software training, and Audit & Assurance and Tax Updates. Industry specific events: Health Care Retreat, Financial Institutions Annual Update, Insurance Regulatory Training. Technology: productivity software applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as office productivity tools like our time tracking software. Leadership: supervisory (in-charge) skills, manager level training event and our highly respected Leadership Training Program. Just for You Training: retirement training and 401(k) seminars. In addition to internal offerings, senior staff attend seminars and conferences specific to their industry or service specialization and role within the firm. Eide Bailly s Training and Development department was developed specifically with the ongoing needs of staff and partners in mind. The department provides: Up-to-date education. Eide Bailly s Training and Development department is our strategic umbrella for managing our staff s learning and development. Our programs are linked to business goals and strategies of various departments, offices and the firm as a whole. Customized training. We deliver highly customized and professionally facilitated programs to our staff which include: o Training for levels 1-4 (post-graduate accounting education) o Leadership development o Improved processes for conducting audits, preparing tax returns, providing special services and facilitating groups. We offer a variety of learning formats to maximize the effectiveness of our training programs and to provide staff with alternatives Expenses paid. We pay most of the costs staff encounter for training as long as it aligns with their department, office and the firm s goals and strategies. Networking. Our training involves fellowship with peers. This system includes many important features to make sure the needs of staff and the firm are being met: Core competencies which align with the firm s strategic goals. A process to design, develop and deliver learning programs. Learning partners to broaden and enrich our training resources. Learning theory and research integrated in every program. About our Staff Members: Eide Bailly s Training and Development department includes professional trainers, such as our Director of Training and Development, and support staff and managers who help develop, coordinate, and document our various training programs and learning events. It also includes firm leaders. Partners and managers, who have a great deal of expertise, lead our technical training programs. Firm Training & Development Key Events: Tax EB 101 Tax Track This learning event introduces new hires, including interns and seasonals, to the Eide Bailly tax approach. During this session, participants learn how to prepare individual and business returns and apply technology systems and software used by tax professionals within the firm. Audience: Tax staff with less than one year of experience Date: This is on-demand training in various modules. TNN (Tax News Network) Monthly webcast series that covers pertinent tax updates, hot topics, as well as an overview of services offered within Eide Bailly. These sessions are one hour in length and designed to inform and build awareness of people and services in the tax area. Audience: All Tax staff and partners Date: These trainings take place the last Wednesday of every month (excluding busy season). Tax Advantage This practical, hands-on program is designed to both provide information on the tax rules and to challenge the participants to complete case studies and exercises where they apply the rules and complete actual tax forms. This session provides staff from all Eide Bailly locations with an opportunity

to learn new skills, network with one another and share office best practices. These sessions are facilitated by TaxWatch instructors, premier providers of Tax Technical and levels training. Audience: Tax and general service professionals at levels I through IV Date: Live session held the 3 rd week in October. Tax Updates Annual training that provides participants with a practical working knowledge of recent tax law changes, new developments and updates in the tax profession. This is a full day live session that is offered at the individual office locations. Clients are often invited to attend this session. Audience: All tax staff and partners Date: Depending on office schedules, takes place sometime between October and December. Assurance A&A Updates Annual training that brings participants up to speed with the many changes in accounting & auditing. This comprehensive course covers all the relevant pronouncements, exposure drafts and consensus reports recently issued in the accounting, auditing, compilation and review arenas. This is a full day live session that is offered at the individual office locations. Clients are often invited to attend this session. Audience: All assurance staff and partners Date: Depending on office schedules takes place sometime between May and December. ASN Monthly webcast series that provides staff and partners with timely updates on assurance related topics. These sessions are one hour in length and designed to inform and build awareness of people and services in the assurance area. Audience: All assurance staff and partners Date: These trainings take place the last Friday of every month (excluding busy season). EB 101 Assurance Track This learning event introduces new accounting graduates, interns and seasonals to the Eide Bailly assurance approach. The primary focus is on the technical skills required to "get right to work" at Eide Bailly. During this session, participants learn the assurance program, technology systems, and software used by auditors in the firm through a hands-on, simulated approach. Audience: Assurance staff with less than one year of experience Date: This is on-demand training in various modules. EDUFEX EDUcation For EXcellence (EDUFEX) is Eide Bailly s training event for Assurance and Accounting (A&A) staff. Staff from all office locations come together to learn, network and share best practices. These sessions are facilitated by AuditWatch instructors, premier providers of audit technical and levels training. Audience: Assurance professionals at levels I through IV Date: There are two sessions planned each year; the 1 st and 2 nd weeks in June.

Leadership LTP Leadership Training Program Eide Bailly's Leadership Training Program (LTP) is designed to provide information, education, and training to develop leadership competencies in those responsible for providing Firm-wide leadership in offices, departments, industry groups, committees, projects, and tasks. Audience: Selected sr. managers and partners. Date: Participants attend for two years and receive coaching throughout. NextGen The NextGen conference is designed for all levels of Managers. New managers receive targeted training addressing the challenges they face as they transition into their new role. Managers with one year of experience and above have the option to select from various tracks that focus on areas such as building teams, running a business or business development, based on their particular areas of need for competency development. Audience: Managers who have been in the manager role for one to two years. Date: This session takes place in November. New Partner Leadership Program New Partner Leadership program is a two year program that takes place in conjunction with NextGen. This program provides partners with access to firm leadership to discuss questions and challenges associated with the transition from employee to owner. The session focuses on the expectations of Partners from staff development, business development, and client relationship development as well as ethical expectations. Audience: Partners in the first two years of being named partner. Date: This session takes place in November. PartnerConnect Linked to the October Partner meeting, this 2 day session is designed to provide higher level training to the partner group. This session allows for a personalized schedule where participants can choose from a variety of industry, service and soft skills focus areas. It is meant to broaden their knowledge of service offerings and points of contact throughout the firm. Audience: Partner group Date: This is a live session that takes place the last week of October in conjunction with the partner meeting. Women s Leadership BootCamp This program is designed for female managers in the firm. This multi-day session incorporates industry recognized speakers as well as firm leadership. All content and activities are designed to better equip these high performers to succeed in the largely male dominated accounting industry. Audience: Female managers Date: In conjunction with NextGen.

Industry Employee Benefit Audit Employee Benefit Plan Basic Training is offered to provide new audit staff with the fundamental technical skills required to perform employee benefit plan audits. This is a one day session that is a combination of webcast and in-office facilitation working hands on. A Pre-Season Update is provided for all staff and partners to review developments and provide guidance related to audits of 403(b) plans, EFAST 2/Form 5500 changes and Sampling Standards and Engagement Efficiencies. This is a half-day session that takes place via webcast. Audience: All staff and partners working on employee benefit plan audits Date: Basic Training and Pre-Season Update both take place in early May. Economic & Market Review Daren Pladson, EBFS Financial Advisor, will provide an update on the domestic and global economy and financial markets. He will discuss what impact recent government actions might have on the economy and markets and what investment strategies to consider in both the equity and fixed income markets. Audience: Partners and managers Date: This is a quarterly webcast that takes place on the last Monday of the month. Financial Institutions Update This session brings together those individuals who work in the Financial Institutions Industry. This course provides participants with an overview of tax, audit, accounting, and consulting issues involving financial institutions to include compliance with banking laws and regulatory updates. Participants take part in general, as well as breakout sessions. A series of webcasts covering timely industry specific topics are offered to staff and partners during the October to December timeframe as well. Audience: All staff and partners involved with Financial Institutions Date: This is a live session that takes place in early October. Financial Institutions Update - Tax Training This is a Webcast series for tax staff and partners involved in the financial institutions industry. Audience: All tax staff and partners involved in financial institutions. Date: These webcasts take place August January. NPO & Governmental Update Governmental training is provided to the associate and sr. associate levels via a two part webcast series that focuses on updates to the standards in relation to Firm process. Manager and Partner levels attend a live three day session. This session focuses on current updates in the areas of Non-profit, Yellowbook, GASB and A-133. Participants also discuss the impact of regulatory updates on firm processes as well as the results of the Internal Inspection. Audience: All staff and partners involved with governmental entities Date: Manager and partner session scheduled in July. Associate and Sr. Associate two part webcast series take place in August. SEC Training During this course, participants receive instruction on various aspects of the SEC and how it relates to their job. This course also includes a discussion regarding Eide Bailly's PCAOB inspection. In some cases, clients may be invited to this training session. Audience: Experienced Eide Bailly personnel and all SEC engagement partners and concurring reviewers Date: This is a one day live session that occurs in January.

Wealth and Transition Training During this session, participants will have an opportunity to discuss multiple aspects of wealth and transition industry, as well as review planning techniques. The topics include community property, marital trust funding, quality control, charitable planning, soft side succession planning, grantor trust issues and a review of planning techniques. A series of webcasts covering timely industry specific topics are offered to staff and partners during the July to December timeframe as well. Audience: All staff and partners involved in wealth & transition planning Date: This is a live session that takes place in August.
