Sizing: Permissible variations in dimensions shall not differ by more than 1/16 from width, hight, length or thickness. Standard units are manufactured with a 3/16 bevel on all four (4) sides of finished surface. Unit shall conform to a true plane and not differ by more than 1/16 in either concave and/or convex warpage. 3. Components and Materials: a. Lok Down: The Lok Down is made of a high impact copolymer polypropylene. Outside base dimension of 7 x 7 provides contact surface of 49 square. It is installed on previously established grid lines. An average project will require one Lok Down for each Terra Paver. b. Terra Stand: High impact copolymer polypropylene that adjusts from 2 to 21 in height. Outside base dimension is 7 by 7: to provide 49 square inches of contact area. Maximum static load per pedestal is 3000 lbs. c. Terra Shim Plate : 1/16, 1/8, or 1/4" thick made of SBR rubber. d. Burn characteristics of plastic Terra Stand pedestal and waffle reducer: units to meet burn rate category CC2 per ASTM D635 for plastic materials. 4. Basic Use: a. Lok Down is designed for exterior application using Terra Pavers on roof decks, plazas, parking garages, terraces, and other flat or sloped surfaces structurally sound with required dead load capacity. b. Lok Down is an open joint system and will drain all water to waterproofing/roofing system below. 5. Design Wind Speed: Full scale wind pressure studies at the International Hurricane Research of Florida International University have shown the Wausau Tile Lok Down System to reach an ultimate design wind speed of 146 mph. The full scale work was performed using the Wall of Wind with pressure taps; multi-dimensional wind force was used; no parapets were present on the roof deck of the full scale test model. Paver units were 2 foot by 2 foot, 2 inches thick in size. The Lok Down devise provides a multiple paver static lift resistance to uplift. Factors of safety are computed based on specific wind uplift pressures generated at each paver system location on the building. This full scale wind evaluation per ASCE 7-05 Section 6.6 also meets the requirements of IBC 1504.8 ANSI/SPRI RP-4 and IBC 1609.1.1.2. B. PEDESTALS AND ACCESSORIES: 1. Lok Down: a. The Lok Down is made of high impact copolymer polypropylene and is made to lock the paver system together and prevent wind uplift. 2. Terra Shim Plates: a. Terra Shim Plates (shims) are 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 thick and of various sizes. Shim Plates to be SBR Rubber. 3. Pedestal Systems: 9/30/2014 3

a. Terra-Stand Pedestals: Accommodates various pitches and height changes of the project area. Unit has outside dimension of 7. Unit telescopes from a minimum of 2 1/2 to a maximum of 21 and can tilt to a level plane. Units to be high impact copolymer Polypropylene. 4. Reducer Pedestal System: a. Waffle Reducer: The waffle Reducer is made of high impact copolymer polypropylene. Waffle Reducer is made to accommodate height adjustments ½ to 2. An outside base diameter of 6 provides surface contract of 33 square inches. The unit consists of one base with 3 pieces of 3/8 waffle rings and 1 piece of 3/4 waffle ring. 5. Installation Handles: a. Paver Blok Handles: Units to handle paver sizes 24 nominal, allowing installing contractor to set units into proper location with 3/16 joint between units. Also allows for removal and reinstallation units without causing any damage to units or adjacent units, thus allowing inspection of utilities or drains at any time. b. Big Blok Handle: Unit to handle paver sizes 24 to 30 nominal, allowing installing contractor to set units into proper location with 3/16 joint between units. Also allows for removal and reinstallation without causing any damage to units or adjacent units, thus allowing inspection of utilities or drains at any time. 6. Other Accessory Materials: a. Shall be either provided by the manufacturer of the precast concrete pavers and precast units, or shall be specifically recommended by them. b. Metal Edge Restraint: provided by Metal Era, Waukesha, WI; (800) 558-2162 or job fabricated per Engineers design for resisting wind up lift in each area and elevation of paver system placement. PART 3: EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION OF PAVER SYSTEM A. Inspection of deck and fixed elevation locations. All height or location problems to be corrected before installation. B. Compare layout of deck to shop drawings or architectural drawings. All variances of field conditions to drawings to be reviewed and corrected prior to starting installation. C. Paved areas shall not vary more than 1/4 from level in a distance of 10 measured at any location and in any direction. D. Joints between pavers to be 3/16 3.3 CLEANING AND PROTECTION A. Remove and replace pavers which are loose, chipped, broken, stained or otherwise damaged, or if units do not match adjoining units as intended. Provide new units to match adjoining units and install in same manner as original units, with same joint treatment to eliminate evidence of replacement. B. Cleaning: Remove any type of soiling from exposed paver surfaces, wash and scrub clean. C. Provide final protection and maintain conditions in a manner acceptable to installer, which ensures paver work being without damage or deterioration at time of substantial completion. D. Joints between pavers to be open and clean of debris to allow for proper drainage and air flow. 9/30/2014 5
