International Maritime Organization - Legislation 2017 1 January 2017 SOLAS IGF Code International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other Lowflashpoint Fuels (IGF Code), along with amendments to make the Code mandatory under SOLAS. The amendments to SOLAS chapter II-1 (Construction Subdivision and stability, machinery and electrical installations): - Amendments to Part F Alternative Design and Arrangements, to provide a methodology for alternative design and arrangements for machinery, electrical installations and lowflashpoint fuel storage and distribution systems. - A new Part G Ships using Low-flashpoint Fuels, to add new regulations to require ships constructed after 1 January 2017 to comply with the requirements of the IGF Code, together with related amendments to chapter II-2 and Appendix (Certificates). International Maritime Organization - Legislation 2017 The IGF Code contains mandatory provisions for the arrangement, installation, control and monitoring of machinery, equipment and systems using low-flashpoint fuels, focusing initially on LNG. The Code addresses all areas that need special consideration for the usage of low-flashpoint fuels, taking a goal-based approach, with goals and functional requirements specified for each section forming the basis for the design, construction and operation of ships using this type of fuel. Amendments to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), and STCW Code, to include new mandatory minimum requirements for the training and qualifications of masters, officers, ratings and other personnel on ships subject to the IGF Code, also entered into force on 1 January 2017. Viking Line - Cruise Ferry The most environmentally friendly big passenger ship to date: LNG/NG fueled diesel electric power plant with MDO/HFO systems as backup First big LNG/NG powered ship, will meet all known future emission regulations No marine emissions, extremely low air emissions Hydro dynamically optimized to preserve sensitive operation area An ultra low resistance hull form has been developed based on the patented Wave Damping Aft body (WDA). This will reduce resistance and wave erosion forces in transit in the sensitive archipelago between Finland and Sweden Passenger public spaces on top to maximize archipelago experience WORLD CLASS - through people, technology and dedication Page 6
Fuel System - Bunkering Bunkering principle STS (ship-to-ship) Tank capacity for three days/roundtrips Bunkering 5-6 times every week, about 70 ton each time (SPEC 150 ton) Separate dedicated bunker stations for LNG Main engine running on NG when bunkering After bunkering the bunkering line is emptied and inerted No Methane release to air Passengers onboard Loading and unloading passengers and cargo while bunkering WORLD CLASS - through people, technology and dedication Page 7

LNG Bunkering Possible to fill one or both storage tanks from one bunkering station at the same time Normal filling is done by adding LNG to the bottom of the storage tank LNG can also be sprayed into the tank through nozzles at the top of the tank. This line is used for controlling the pressure during bunkering and for cooling the tank before bunkering if necessary. Including a vapour return line.
