Identification of the mixture and of the company/undertaking 1.1 Product identifier Trade name: ROCKWOOL 1.2 Relevant identified uses of the substance or mixture and uses advised against 1.2.1 Identified uses: Ready-to-use, well coating priming plaster containing fine quartz particles to be applied under mineral, acrylic, oxosilane, silicone and silicate renders. Owing to its distinctive features, it is recommended for the priming of all kinds of concrete, ceramic and cement-lime surfaces which will be plastered. Rinse affected skin areas with plenty of water and soap. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. In case of irritation, seek medical advice. Contact with eyes: rinse abundantly with plenty of water (10-15 min). Protect the unaffected eye, remove contact lenses. Bystanders should be immediately dismissed from the danger zone. Do not stay in the danger zone without adequate fire-resistant clothing to chemicals and self-contained breathing apparatus. Sprinkle the containers exposed to fire with water spray at a safe distance. Prevent fire-fighting water from entering into the surface or groundwater. 6. Accidental release measures 6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures Use suitable protective clothing, gloves, eyes/face protection; avoid contact with eyes and skin. Unprotected personnel shall be removed from the endangered area. Follow local regulations concerning accident handling procedures. 6.2 Environmental precautions Do not allow concentrated product to enter surface or ground water. 6.3 Methods and material for containment and cleaning up In case of large spills, collect with adsorbent material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, sawdust) into labelled container for disposal. Flush residues with plenty of water, then collect water and transfer for disposal do not discharge into drains. 7. Handling and Storage 7.1 Precautions for safe handling Comply with the occupational safety and health regulations. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, use according to recommendations, do not eat or drink when using this product. Wash hands during breaks and after work. It is recommended to use general room ventilation. Detailed information on application of the product is provided in technical data sheet. 7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities Keep in a separate, well-ventilated room, in original, tightly closed containers; keep container in upright position; store at room temperature. Prevent freezing and overheating it may affect stability and application characteristics of the product. 7.3 Specific end use(s) 8. Exposure controls/personal protection 8.1 Control parameters Monitoring procedures for concentrations of hazardous components in the air and the procedures for air purity control at workplace should be used if available and reasonable at a particular workplace in accordance with appropriate Polish or European Standards considering conditions at the exposure site and appropriate measurement methods adapted to the working conditions. The procedure, type and frequency of tests and measurements should meet the requirements of Regulation of the Ministry of Health of 2 February 2011 (Journal of Laws Dz.U No. 33, item 166). Methods for the assessment of exposure to chemical agents by respiratory track are specified in European Standard PN-EN: Workplace atmospheres guidance for the assessment of exposure to chemical agents for comparison with limit values and measurement strategy. Exposure controls continued Respiratory protection: The product is not hazardous to health if it is handled properly no special protective measures are required. If dust concentrations at workplace exceed permissible exposure limits, use respiratory protection, such as a face mask or halfmask with dust cartridge; in emergency situations use selfcontained breathing apparatus independent of surrounding air. Eye protection: close-fitting safety glasses (goggles) or face shield. Hand protection: protective gloves. The gloves should be made of an impermeable material resistant to the product. The glove material should be selected considering the breakthrough time, permeation rate and degradation. Furthermore, the selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on other quality parameters and depends on the specific manufacturer. The exact breakthrough time has to be determined by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and should be observed. Individual protection measures used should meet the requirements of the Regulation of the Minister of Economy of 21 December 2005 (Dz.U. Journal of Laws No 259, item 2173) and Directive 89/686/EC (as amended). The employer is obliged to provide protective measures adequate for the performed activities meeting all quality requirements, including maintenance and cleaning.
