TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION Acute inhalation and sensitization studies were bridged from studies on the technical-grade active ingredient, ethephon. All other acute toxicity data have been bridged from similar formulations containing similar percentages of ethephon. The non-acute information pertains to technical-grade ethephon. Page 5 of 9

Acute oral toxicity Acute dermal toxicity Acute inhalation toxicity male/female combined rat: LD50: > 5,000 mg/kg male/female combined rabbit: LD50: > 2,000 mg/kg male/female combined rat: LC50: 4.5 mg/l Exposure time: 4 h The value mentioned relates to the active ingredient. Determined in the form of liquid aerosol. (actual) male/female combined rat: LC50: 18.0 mg/l Exposure time: 1 h The value mentioned relates to the active ingredient. Determined in the form of liquid aerosol. Extrapolated from the 4 hr LC50. (actual) Skin irritation Eye irritation Sensitisation Chronic toxicity rabbit: Moderate skin irritation. rabbit: corrosive guinea pig: Non-sensitizing. The value mentioned relates to the active ingredient. Ethephon caused cholinesterase inhibition and/or clinical signs of toxicity in chronic toxicity studies in rats and dogs. Assessment Carcinogenicity Ethephon was not carcinogenic in lifetime feeding studies in rats and mice. ACGIH NTP IARC OSHA Reproductive toxicity REPRODUCTION: Ethephon was not a reproductive toxicant in a two-generation study in rats. Toxicity in the offspring occurred at doses producing systemic toxicity in parental animals. DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICITY: Ethephon was not a primary developmental toxicant in rats and rabbits. Developmental effects were observed but were considered secondary to maternal toxicity. Assessment neurotoxicity Ethephon did not cause delayed neurotoxicity in hens. Ethephon was not a neurotoxicant in acute and subchronic neurotoxicity screening studies in rats. Page 6 of 9

Mutagenicity Ethephon was not mutagenic or genotoxic based on the overall weight of evidence in a battery of in vitro and in vivo tests. SECTION 12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION Environmental precautions Ecological Information Do not apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate surface or ground water by cleaning equipment or disposal of wastes, including equipment wash water. Do not apply when weather conditions favor runoff or drift. If more information is required, call the product information number listed in Section 1. SECTION 13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS General Disposal Guidance Container Disposal Dispose in accordance with all local, state/provincial and federal regulations. Follow advice on product label and/or leaflet. Improper disposal of excess pesticide, spray mixture, or rinsate is a violation of Federal Law. Triple rinse containers. Puncture container to avoid re-use.
