READ THE LABEL BEFORE USE. USING THIS PRODUCT IN A MANNER THAT IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE LABEL MAY BE AN OFFENCE. FOLLOW THE CODE OF PRACTICE FOR USING PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Operator protection Engineering control of operator exposure must be used where reasonably practicable in addition to the following personal protective equipment: WEAR SUITABLE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING (COVERALLS) AND SUITABLE PROTECTIVE GLOVES when handling the concentrate or handling contaminated surfaces. However, engineering controls may replace personal protective equipment if a COSHH assessment shows they provide an equal or higher standard of protection. WASH CONCENTRATE from skin or eyes immediately. WASH HANDS AND EXPOSED SKIN before meals and after work. WASH ALL PROTECTIVE CLOTHING thoroughly after use, especially the insides of gloves. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Environmental protection Do not contaminate water with the product or its container. Do not clean application equipment near surface water. Avoid contamination via drains from farmyards and roads. To protect aquatic organisms respect an unsprayed buffer zone distance to water bodies in line with LERAP requirements. DO NOT ALLOW DIRECT SPRAY from horizontal boom sprayers to fall within m of the top of the bank of a static or flowing water body, unless a Local Environmental Risk Assessment for Pesticides (LERAP) permits a narrower buffer zone, or within m of the top of a ditch which is dry at the time of application. Aim spray away from water. This product qualifies for inclusion within the Local Environment Risk Assessment for Pesticides (LERAP) scheme. Before each spraying operation from a horizontal boom sprayer, either a LERAP must be carried out in accordance with CRD s published guidance or the statutory buffer zone must be maintained. The results of the LERAP must be recorded and kept available for three years. Extreme care must be taken to avoid drift onto non-crop plants outside the target area. QUIDAM MAPP 79

All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product. Restrictions DO NOT apply to crops affected by waterlogging or pest and disease. DO NOT apply to crops subject to extreme daily temperature changes or affected by frost. DO NOT apply to crops under stress as transient yellowing may occur which is outgrown. DO NOT apply QUIDAM to any crop more than once. Field beans and broad beans MUST NOT be sown within 2 months of applying QUIDAM. When using on winter cereals, seed should be covered by cm of soil. Resistance Strains of some annual grasses (e.g. black-grass, wild oats, and Italian rye-grass) have developed resistance to a range of herbicides which may lead to poor control. A strategy for preventing and managing such resistance should be adopted. Guidelines have been produced by the Weed Resistance Action Group and copies are available from the HGCA, CPA, your distributor, crop adviser or product manufacturer. Use of QUIDAM for control of resistant strains of annual grasses should only be as part of an appropriate resistance management strategy. This should include use of sequences with herbicides with different modes of action and cultural control techniques. WEEDS CONTROLLED For best results apply to a firm, moist seedbed which is free from clods. Grass weeds Weed species Annual meadow-grass Loose silky-bent Rough stalked meadow-grass Note: A pre-emergence application of QUIDAM will reduce levels of black-grass and Italian rye-grass, however it should only be used as part of a resistance management strategy including use of sequences with products with different modes of action and cultural control techniques. Winter wheat and : In pre-emergence applications, crop-emergence has sometimes been slowed. This transient effect should not adversely impact on crop yield. Application timing Pre-crop emergence OR Post-crop emergence up to GS2 Susceptibility individual dose Growth stage number of treatments (per crop) Potatoes (early and maincrop) Before applying QUIDAM complete ridge formation. After application of QUIDAM do not disturb treated soil. For pre-emergence applications only: where a wider spectrum of weed control is required, a tank-mix with approved products containing the active substances linuron and metribuzin may be considered. Best use guidance and full label restrictions for any tank-mix products MUST be fully consulted and label restrictions adhered to. Application timing up to emergence of the crop GS (soil rising over emerging potato shoots) individual dose FOLLOWING CROPS Winter cereals and potatoes (early and maincrop) Do not sow broad or field beans within 2 months of application of QUIDAM. After winter cereal crop failure: In the autumn winter wheat or may be sown immediately. In the spring the following crops may be sown without ploughing: flax, maize, spring barley, spring oats, spring peas, spring wheat, spring oilseed rape, soya beans and sunflowers.
