Project s fiche INOV Clear Flatro building 49 metres long The Flatro industrial building in Villers-le-Bouillet measures 15 metres by 49 metres and is 6 metres high. The building rests on concrete plinths prepared by Frisomat and provided with all attachment points. The side walls have wind bracing built in for additional strength. Finish to client s requirements The roof consists of a steel deck (TR106) with a roofing finish over it. A large sectional doors in the side wall (6 m x 6 m) ensures easy entry and exit for large vehicles. Two pedestrian doors provide maximum accessibility. Natural light A 12 m long rooflight in the ridge of the building provides ample daylight. Translucent wall panels on the sides ensure a great deal of daylight which can shine into the building. 18/11/2013 Frisomat Case study project's fiche INOV 1/5
Foundation 1. Wall cladding - Transparent Rodeca wall panels provided by the client himself. Frisomat provided the wall purlins and finishing pieces in close consultation with the client. In this case they consisted of transparent wall cladding and façade finishes. 2. Columns - Steel columns (steel grade S390GD+Z) erected from double Σ320 sections. The unequal flange width of the sections provides for perfect fitting and a slim double section with flat outer edges and doubles the strength for the same surface area. 3. Plinth beam - Frisomat plinth in polystyrene (80 mm thick) with two concrete wall panels. The plinth is 400 mm high and acts as formwork when pouring the concrete floor. The insulation board extends below the floor slab which provides improved thermal insulation and optimum protection against water splashes. 4. Anchor bolt - Threaded rods M20 x 500 mm (with 400 mm embedded) ensure rapid assembly of the steel structure. This is a hinged joint. 5. Foundation block - A prefabricated foundation block (600x677x700 mm) ensures correct positioning and simple erection after the foundation calculation. 18/11/2013 Frisomat Case study project's fiche INOV 2/5
Connection piece 1. Roof coating - Flexible thermoplastic plastic roofing in 1.5 mm thick Alkorplan F, fully adhesivebonded and UV stabilised. The load-bearing function of the steel deck (TR106) means that purlins are not required in the roof. 2. Wall cladding - Transparent Rodeca wall panels guarantee a great deal of added light in the building. Frisomat matches its purlins and finishing pieces to the panels. This is done in close consultation with the client. 3. Connecting piece - Functional and compact 130 mm trusses, exactly the same as the total column width of the double Σ320 sections (8 mm thick). The end plate enables sufficient bolts to be fitted consistent with the forces transmitted to the column. It also makes the connection with the wind bracing. 4. Column - Steel columns erected from double Σ320 sections. The unequal flange width of the sections provides for perfect fitting and a slim double section, with flat outer edges. And it doubles the strength for the same surface area. 18/11/2013 Frisomat Case study project's fiche INOV 3/5
Wall insulation 1. Trusses - Flatro trusses with a 1.72 degree roof pitch. Double C160 sections for top and bottom rail and single C130 sections for diagonals and verticals. All components are made of S390GD+Z steel with 275 g/m² galvanising. 2. Wall cladding - Transparent Rodeca wall sheets, fitted by the client to Frisomat wall purlins and finishing pieces. 3. Column - Double 320 section that fits together perfectly thanks to different flange widths. Interconnection created with continuous bolts. 4. Sectional door - 6 by 6 metres effective door opening. The vertical rail system is standard developed for purlins with cladding, cassettes and sandwich panels. The doors open manually (with a cord or chain) or electrically (380 V supply required). 18/11/2013 Frisomat Case study project's fiche INOV 4/5
Rooflight 1. Dome skylight - Flat roof skylight as a central 3 m by 12 m dome skylight, built around a central frame in C300 sections. This frame fits precisely into the lattice structure of the Flatro truss framework. The dome skylight is made up of 10 mm thick four-ply polycarbonate with 50% light transmission. The insulation value of the dome skylight is 2.5W/m²K. This system is also available as an option with an integrated ventilation system or smoke extraction (opening automatically at 70 C - gas pressure with thermal sensor). 2. Steel deck - Trapezoidal sheets (TR106) for roof cladding obviate the need for purlins. 3. Trusses - Flatro trusses with a 1.72 degree roof pitch (effective depth: 1 m). Double C160 sections for top and bottom rail and single C130 sections for diagonals and verticals. All components are made of S390GD+Z steel with 275 g/m² galvanising. 4. Roof insulation - 1.5 mm thick PVC roof coating with 80 mm EPS insulation. 18/11/2013 Frisomat Case study project's fiche INOV 5/5
