MP MULTIDIRECTIONAL SYSTEM THE RINGLOCK SCAFFOLDING MP MULTIDIRECTIONAL SYSTEM The MP System is the latest evolution in traditional tube and clamp scaffolding. The modularity, flexibility and high load capacity of the system enable it to be used even in the most complex situations, with a complete range of accessories that allow scaffolding and support structures to be built in many fields of operation, such as civil and industrial construction, chemical and petrochemical plants, shipbuilding and aviation yards, electricity power stations, entertainment and shows. All the advantages of the Pilosio MP Multidirectional System over traditional systems become clear during really challenging projects. Indeed, the speed of installation allied to the system s versatility lead to a substantial reduction of the costs and, at the same time, an increase in safety. Once connected, the system bestows structural resistance and stability right from the assembly phases, without the use of locking devices and measuring instruments. Scaffolding can therefore be constructed for facades, platforms, towers, suspended and moveable structures in the most testing conditions of support and anchorage. A key feature of the system that ensures speed of installation is the constant distance between the rosettes welded to the uprights and the simple, functional connections, without the aid of bolts. Indeed, all it takes to establish a firm and incredibly resistant connection is to insert the heads of the components in the holes of the rosettes and strike the wedges with a hammer. The rosettes welded on the uprights every 50 cm allow 8 connections on a single plane at various angles. In particular, the four little holes on the rosette enable stringers and diagonals to be fixed, centring them at the correct angle automatically. The four larger holes are for the connection of the diagonals and the facades and also enable the angle of alignment between the components to be adjusted within a range of 30. 8

WHY MP SYSTEM? INDUSTRIAL OIL&GAS The modular MP System features simple components and a full range of accessories for every need. MP is the ideal scaffolding to create complex structures, such as, for example, hanging scaffolding, cantilever structures, irregular geometries, ductworks, narrow entrances, round, elliptical and polygonal structures, oil and gas pipelines. The chemical and oil industries can make use of a variety of solution, both for construction and maintenance. Using the MP Multidirectional System it is possible to perform operations within the silos or in sloped surfaces, with irregulars and curved geometries or tapered walls. This solution, created in accordance to the pressing Canadian regulations, made necessary by the harsh local climate conditions, enabled the construction of an important plant Oil&Gas in the region of Alberta. 15

VIADUCTS AND BRIDGES The huge flexibility and the wide range of accessories allows to solve any possible site needs as: suspended structures for bridges, sliding structure, service stairs, high bearing special legs, service scaffolding and loading platform. Sliding towers with curved shapes for special maintenance and restoration can be assembled. An aluminum covering can be applied to create a weather protection or to protect the environment from noise or damages. 16

MP SHORING SYSTEMS Different support structures can be built with different components of the MP multidirectional scaffolding and with a specific set of accessories: suitable for the reinforcement of slabs, beams or any other structure cast at a height. The vertical elements and horizontal connections consist of elements of MP multidirectional scaffolding. The availability of many sizes of components allows creating structures of any size. The tower with 0.83x0.83 m or 1.15x1.15 m square base allows capacities up to 50 kn for each vertical standards for a total of 200 kn for each tower. The modularity of this type of structure allows solving any problem on site, both of capacity and of geometry. It is possible to increase the capacities by doubling the standards, to carry-out structures with curvilinear bases: with triangular base or any other shape, to climb obstacles and also create supports for structures with negative or positive slope. Pilosio s technical department is available to solve any structural need. By using bases and adjustable forks, the towers can also be used as a temporary contrast for works to stabilize structures under construction. The structure can be combined with service stairs for an easy access at high altitude. The MP system was used for a birdcage at 25 m high. 19

HEAVY DUTY MP TOWERS In the case of high capacity, it is possible to use support structures with high capacities to reinforce slabs, beams or any other structure cast at a height, carried out with components of the MP multidirectional scaffolding combined with a series of accessories. Each vertical element consists of 4 MP vertical standards connected to each other by a lower and upper frame.the elements so carried out are connected four by four to build the tower. Capacity of base module: 200 kn for each vertical element, equal to 800 kn for the whole tower. Higher capacities are possible: check with Pilosio s technical department. All standard components of the MP scaffolding system are used, combined with lower and upper frames and adjusting screws, for the creation of support structures with high capacity. The vertical elements constituted by 4 standards are spaced 17x17 cm and can be combined to create towers or walls of various sizes depending on specific needs. The great flexibility of design and the MP multidirectional scaffolding hold, combined with various accessories allows the creation of structures of any kind both for supporting horizontal surfaces and brackets for unloading material, and for structures supporting formworks for castings at a height. By using bases and adjustable forks, the towers can also be used as a temporary contrast for works to stabilize structures under construction. The structure can be combined with service stairs for an easy access at high altitude. 20

SHIPYARD - NAVAL MP MULTIDIRECTIONAL SCAFFOLDING FOR THE NAVAL INDUSTRY The high flexibility of MP multidirectional scaffolding allows numerous advantages for the naval industry, both for construction and for maintenance. The scaffolding can be equipped with swiveling wheels. The use of brackets allows working safely close to the hull of the ship and without the need for invasive fastenings. 22

BUILDING MP FOR BUILDING CONSTRUCTIONS The MP Multidirectional System, thanks to its wedge and rosette system, makes assembly and disassembly extremely easy for any kind of construction. It features great modularity, extreme adaptability, heavy capacity and the possibility to create any kind of structures using irregular shapes. The structure may be equipped with service stairs and job site lifts to facilities climbing at a high altitude. For special needs, the Pilosio technical office can design custom solutions. 24

RENOVATION AND RESTORATION MP Multidirectional system is the best solution in case of renovation and restoration, especially for complicated sites. As for the references to the right (S. Bernardino Dome in L Aquila, Italy), from the cloister, it completely bypassed the basilica for a length of 50 m and it rested on the opposite side. The scaffolding completely caged the dome, allowing the work over the entire surface. Also a series of unloading areas for the material, sized 2.50x2.50 m were set up with a capacity of 4.50 kn/sq.m. ACCESS Backstairs 250x150 cm. A simpler solution is to build a climbing stair leaning against the façade scaffolding that uses the scaffolding floor as a landing (Fig. 1). A service stair sized 300x550 cm and spacing of 200 cm and landings of 150x150 cm is the perfect solution to access the site by personnel with bulky equipment and and safety personnel for passage of a possible stretcher (Fig. 2). With the MP system it is possible to build also stairs open to the public for the civil sector (entertainment, sporting events, various events) that comply with the safety standards of the sector (Fig. 3). To secure easily and safely climbing at a height, instead of using a trapdoor with rung ladders available only to workers, the comfortable external service stairs manufactured with MP scaffolding with aluminium climbing stairs are used. The advantage is to make accessible the high altitude climbing at a height or accessing excavations both for transportation of material and small equipment and for site inspections by personnel not involved in the work. These stairs can be directly anchored from the scaffolding to the building, but they are an independent element. The standard sizes are 250x250 cm, top view, with modular height of 200 cm that perfectly combines with the landing of all existing scaffolding models on the market both multidirectional and with prefabricated frames. LOADING TOWER Specific unloading scaffoldings with floors staggered, carried out by using MP multidirectional System are used to supply the various floors of a building with construction and finishing materials and various equipment. They are structured so that the load lifted by a crane is placed on the unloading area at the level of the desired floor and then moved inward the building. It is essential to ensure that the displacement of areas is performed so that the crane can place the load without obstacle. The majority of areas have a size of 2.50x2.50 m with an operating load up to 5 kn/m 2. 30

For special needs, loading towers can be carried out with a different number of areas, measures and capacity. The heavy load required doubling and in a few cases also tripling the MP posts. 31

An example of mobile towers on wheels during two distinct work stages on this bridge: carpentry structure installation and subsequent glass installation. Mobile mezzanines on wheels created using the MP multidirectional scaffolding, with lateral cantilever shelves to allow working on the sides, designed to slide and avoid obstacles on the ground. The smooth central surface is built using PL20 beams and planking in order to use 2 MP towers on wheels to work at different heights. 32
