Innovative developments in The underside of the Coversys tiles is treated with a colourless Innovative developments in appearance : industrial manufacture : Coversys has over the past fifteen years developed and fine-tuned the coatings to steel using a dry process for cut and stamped steel sheets in order to produce a variety of durable finishes. This environmentally friendly process avoids the discharge of polluted water and solvents that characterise standard finishing processes used by other manufacturers. The durability of the tiles is increased by our unique manufacturing process which avoids the development of micro-cracks in the coating because the tiles are painted after they have been cut and formed. Innovative developments in the materials used : Aluzinc steel Coversys has chosen to use Aluzinc steel which is recognised by the industry to be the best base material for painted metal tiles. The Aluzinc coated steel is a combination of the strength of steel, the protection of zinc and the stability of aluminium giving it excellent robustness compared to other tiles treated by ordinary galvanisation. The alloy extends the lifespan of the product using the cathodic protection process. protective coating which improves the tiles aesthetics and also avoids the need for additional painting. High solid polyester coat The paint, which has been specially developed for outdoor use, is polymerised on the upper surface and ridges of the tile. Its electrostatic application ensures a perfectly uniform coating and protection of the sides. The final cover coat of 60 microns of dry paint has excellent resistance to the adverse weathering effects of UV rays and is key to the guarantee of the tile. Other steel tiles on the market use water based emulsions for their coatings. The disadvantage of this method is that the drying process can lead to porosity of the coating which may lead to growth of moss, lichen, bacteria and other fungi. These manufacturers have had to apply an additional special coating of fungicide to overcome this problem. Unfortunately the application of fungicide has its own adverse environmental effects. However Coversys innovative manufacturing process ensures that the Coversys tile is completely impervious to water and no further treatment is required to inhibit the growth of such vegetation. Our coatings also have the excellent fire ratings (M1 reaction to fire, T30/1 resistance to fire (CSTB classification) and European rating b roof.) Coversys has developed some new smooth coatings which are closer to the appearance of traditional clay tiles, namely pearly matt finish, shiny satin, flambé (two-tone) and rustic with shades of colour on top of another base colour. The surface treatment technique developed by Coversys enables us to offer a very wide range of other colours to complement the usual standard colours for large projects which can be made to order. ALPHA DELTA SIERRA The exceptional durability of this type of steel tile also offers advantages in areas of severe weather conditions such as heavy rainfall, storms, hailstones, snow and even earthquakes. In response to myths sometimes linked to steel tiles, we can confirm the following : zero risk of corrosion, especially if the steel used is covered with Aluzinc no problem with sound proofing: measurements carried out by the CSTC give a result of 56.4 db for a clay tile compared to 61.8 db up to 65.8 db for a Coversys tile. In practice, the difference in the acoustic properties is evened out by thermal insulation of the roof which also acts as a sound insulator.
