THE ASSUMED EFFECTS OF EDUCATION Field of study: LOGISTICS FIRST DEGREE STUDIES A PRACTICAL PROFILE IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES FIELD OF EDUCATION The strategic priority goal of Faculty of Management is modern and practical training of students in field of management, finance and logistics, as well as education of highly qualified, professional and entrepreneurial executives who will credit both local, regional and crossborder, as well as nationwide and international economy. In order to define set of assumed in field of Logistics, three conditions were adopted: 1. Modernizing study programs, taking into account labor market needs. 2. Improving quality of education through didactic interdisciplinary. 3. Briefness and communicativeness of development of assumed for each teacher and student. 1. General First degree studies, called undergraduate studies, last six semesters, enable to get at least 180 ETCS points and end up gaining a professional degree - bachelor. These studies provide a wide range of knowledge in logistics, transport and procurement. These studies provide knowledge of ory and practice of management sciences and related disciplines. It is assumed to acquire knowledge of general, basic, directional and special nature in order to understand phenomena and processes taking place in field of logistics as well as to master ability to formulate and solve industry issues in this regard. It is assumed that graduate will be familiar with foreign language in a general and specialized way so that he can communicate in international professional environment and draw on available knowledge and that he will have social competence to make his professional activity socially acceptable and expected. 1

It is also assumed that graduate will be prepared to take up managerial positions in team work in professional life. Graduates of se studies will be prepared to work independently in executive and managerial positions in Transport-Forwarding-Logistics industry, both in logistic companies and in adequate organizational units of public institutions operating in all sectors of professional activity, especially in maritime sector including port company, shipping, forwarding, transportation, distribution, trade support market transactions. Particular attention is paid to market players operating in commercial seaport structures, including public, private, public-private, and small- and medium-sized enterprises. The study program in field of logistics not only enables fast and effective employment but also provides basis to start your own business. It is also assumed that first-degree studies in Logistics will provide good oretical background and substantive preparation for undertaking second-cycle studies. 2. Assumed (directional) Studies in Logistics require active participation of students in classes at university and hold a three-month professional practice. They also require individual, group and independent intellectual work in ir free time from didactic classes and participation in various forms of employment in practice. The three dimensions of student's work allow for acquisition of an adequate set of general, professional and specialized knowledge, diverse skills and necessary qualities of social competence. The program of studies includes courses related to organizational, personnel and financial decisions. These are decisions about work organization, team building, industry, quality and service, investment or capital. This issue is discussed in relation to private sector enterprises, entities of public sector as well as civil sector. Knowledge, skills and competences gained within studies are useful for running your own business. The program of studies is related to field of social sciences education, while assumed relate to field of economic sciences, including discipline of sciences of management. 2.1. The student is able to properly analyze reasons and course of logistics processes at level of business entities and acquire, interpret and use basic oretical knowledge in order to assess and analyze ir market situation. L_U03 The student is able to independently acquire knowledge and develop own skills using domestic and foreign sources and knows how to use m practically. He understands need for throughout life. The student has ability to communicate and present his own ideas in a modern foreign language at B2 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in field of logistics. SOCIAL COMPETENCES The student is aware of professional behavior and solve dilemmas in terms of occupation. He is capable of critical assessment of his knowledge and its importance in solving cognitive and practical problems.
