As part of DPR s Planning Division, Capital Projects Group, this position will assume the lead responsibility for managing park design and construction implementation and project coordination for a variety of facilities in Denver s park system including but not limited to; recreation centers, historic structures, playgrounds, athletic fields, trails, swimming pools, and parking areas. This position will also provide team leadership in all associated project management tasks from project planning, schedule and budgeting, contracting and procurement, design guidance, public and stakeholder coordination, construction management and project reporting. Denver s Parks and Recreation Department boasts one of the most expansive and diverse park systems in the Rocky Mountain West, offering more than 5,000 acres including over 300 urban parks and parkways, 36 lakes, 7 golf courses, and 14,000 acres of mountain parks, including Red Rocks Park, Buffalo Bill Museum and Genesee Park s bison herd. The Department also provides and manages 27 neighborhood recreation centers with 13 indoor and 16 outdoor pools that offer hundreds of affordable recreational programs throughout the year to community residents.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Project Leadership: Assumes a leadership and management role for planning and design projects, programs and policies, meeting DPR goals, including the management of scope, schedule, budget, public participation, stakeholder involvement as well as technical design guidance, intra-departmental plan review, bidding and contract negotiations. The position also assumes the full responsibility for consistent reporting on project progress and addressing any project issues and overcoming roadblocks. District Planning and Design: Advances the mission, vision, and values of the Department and coordinates ongoing planning and design efforts for urban parks, mountain parks, natural areas, facility infrastructure, and park road, and trail projects throughout the parks system. Strategic Planning and Policy: Oversees efforts in strategic planning, and establishment and adherence to appropriate DPR and City-wide policies, internal standard operating procedures, park standards and quality assurance. Identifies and cultivates potential partnerships between DPR and other internal and external interest groups. Communication & Internal Production: Successfully collaborates in the exchange of information between city staff, the public and stakeholders through clear and effective written, graphic and verbal communication. Builds consensus and support for DPR efforts and coordinates the outreach with neighborhood residents, stakeholders, city managers, and political leaders with a variety views and interests in order to successfully complete projects. Cultivates and contributes to positive public relations for the department. Utilizes a systematic and responsive methodology in managing city staff associates, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to accomplish work. Initiates and supports efforts to secure grants and other project funding. QUALIFICATIONS Education Requirement: Baccalaureate Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Planning, and Horticulture or a related field. Experience Requirement: Two years of professional project management experience in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Planning, and Horticulture or related field, including coordinating, administering, and monitoring projects. Preferred Qualifications: Post graduate degree, training, professional license, or certifications in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Planning, and Horticulture or related field; Demonstrated experience in:
