Fuel & Energy Performance Management Vessel performance indicators Improved fuel efficiency Energy management Fuel savings of around 10 % Interactive self-learning system Emission reduction Shore based analysis Weather forecast Applicable for dual-fuel solutions Marine Automation Systems

Modular solution for optimal route planning and efficiency Safe fuel Optimising the bunker consumption and engine utilisation based on speed and weather conditions on the route. Expected reduction of fuel consumption at least 10 %. Think lean and green Increasing revenues without sacrificing sustainable values. Effective use of routing, decreased levels of non-value adding time and efforts, and reduced overall operational costs combined with reduced levels of emissions. Not only substantial savings, but also sustainable savings Our casting tools form a comprehensive, real time data support system for sea route management delivering both optimal route efficiency and route planning. Be compliant Responding to the call to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from shipping. Fulfilling the European Union s regulation on monitoring, reporting and verification of CO 2 emissions from maritime transport (EU-MRV regulation). Ad weather forecast Planning safe routes and time schedules for all seas and all weather conditions. Online information and predictions of upcoming storms, strong waves, current conditions, ice conditions, and ice loads. Stay connected Using advanced telemetry to provide oversight and control of critical systems of the ship. Continuous real-time connection between vessels and back office for extracting, transforming and loading data using the best possible network connection. Easy to use The software is quick to learn and all information is available in one user-friendly view. The view is the same for on-board users and for back office users ashore. Fuel Performance Module Fuel & Energy Performance The FuelMACS Fuel Performance System is designed for fuel and energy performance management. Hull performance management The hull performance management measures shaft torque/power versus speed over time. Once the system is set up for the respective vessel, a reference curve is created. The system is then able to detect speed loss over time by performing analysis of vessel speed versus shaft effect. Vessel performance management For vessel performance management, vessel speed is included in order to calculate fuel usage in litre per nautical mile (l/nm). Various Functionalities Depending on end user requirements the system can incorporate functionality for fuel consumption management, vessel performance management, engine performance management and hull performance management. Tracking & Comparison The system can track a vessel s, or a fleet s, performance over time. This allows for ship owners to compare the fuel performance between different vessels, both based on instant values and history values. SHIPS MAIN ENGINE FUEL CONSUMPTION TON PER NM Before installation of FuelMACS After installation of FuelMACS Engine performance management For engine performance management, data for engine power is included in order to calculate fuel consumption in grams per kilowatt hour (g/kwh). Fuel consumption management For the FuelMACS basic version, fuel consumption management is based on fuel flow measurement. Data for both instant and total fuel consumption is provided - e.g. total per hour, total per voyage. Emissions and fuel costs are reported per engine, per date, in total and accumulated. 4 5

MareCast Weather Forecast Module Be aware of the weather Reliable forecasting of the weather. You can see the current situation and forecasts, as well as observations and warnings, all in one view. Wind speed, wind direction, wind gust, temperature, humidity, air pressure, precipitation. Plan the route Reliable forecasting of the sea and ice conditions on the route. Monitoring, forecasts and animations, all in one view. Wave height, wave direction, swell, current speed, ice thickness, ice concentration, current direction, sea level, sea temperature. Safe to use You do not need to worry about online connections since casting tools are operational even on poor telecommunication connections. Flexible Solution Our stand-alone modules FuelMACS for fuel performance management and the MareCast weather forecast module can be implemented together as a total solution or separately. They can be added to existing automation solutions. Cloud Service Data processing and reporting at the back office can be included as a cloud service. COMPLIANCE WITH EU-MRV REGULATION Planning A ship-specific monitoring plan is required to indicate the selected method for monitoring and reporting the required CO 2 emissions and other required data including fuel, cargo and miles. These must be prepared in accordance with published templates and submitted to a third party verifier for assessment of conformity by 31 August 2017. With a new focus on the data quantity and quality required by the regulation, it will be critical for shipowners and operators to develop a plan for each vessel that is accurate and robust enough to minimise the risk of non-compliance. Execution Once a plan has been established for each vessel it needs to be implemented into existing systems like FuelMACS and processes on board and ashore. Shipowners and operators need to understand the roles and responsibilities of those involved in managing the data flow from each on board measurement point to the submission of the annual emissions report. You need to ensure that you have the right equipment, processes and competencies in place at the beginning of the first monitoring period on 1 January 2018. Proven Fuel Savings FuelMACS has proved to bring savings from day one. Over a longer period the fuel savings will be around 10 %. FuelMACS is a self-learning software that learns how the ship is driven under different conditions. Based on this information it will optimise the fuel consumption. Hence, savings can be made independent of route choices. Self-learning means that the software also reacts to actions made by the crew. Savings are not gained by lowering the speed, as there is a need to reach destinations on time. FuelMACS optimises engine utilisation and fuel consumption on the given route and according to schedule. 6 7
