This company, founded in 1915, specializes in the manufacture of can and foil coatings. 1993 Rhenacoat France is acquired, a manufacturer of packaging coatings (can coatings) based in Sedan, France. 1995 Since 1920 a specialist in the production of sealing compounds for closures, DS-Chemie (Bremen, Germany) is acquired. 1997 Formation of Shunde- Rhenacoat (Shunde, China) for specialty packaging coatings 2000 Terra Lacke (Lehrte, Germany), since 1950 a specialist in the area of overprint varnishes, is acquired. 1996 Acquisition of Artística. The company, founded in 1906 near Vigo, Spain, produces sealing compounds for tin cans. 2009 Water Ink Technologies is acquired. The company produces printing inks, overprint varnishes and dispersions in North Carolina. 2005 Acquisition of Kelstar International (Cinnaminson, USA), a leading US producer of water-based and UV curable overprint coatings for the paper and board packaging sector. 2006 Rad-Cure (Fairfield, USA) is acquired. This company is a specialist for overprint UV curable coatings and adhesives for the paper and board packaging sector. 2011 Acquisition of the sealants business of Watson Standard Adhesives Company further enhances market position in USA. 2010 Aquaprint, based near Bremen and specializing in the manufacture of waterbased overprint varnishes, is acquired. 2013 acquires the specialty coating business from Henkel and the overprint varnish business from Valspar. opens a new research facility for coatings and sealants in Foshan. 2014 acquires two companies (Overlake and Premiata) in the overprint varnish and printing ink industry in São Paulo, Brazil.
