Summary Markets are constantly changing whether you are in manufacturing, distribution or asset intensive industries. Given the constant change in the market you look for a technology partner who not only supports and protects your investment in enterprise software but who continues to extend the solution rewarding you with new levels of benefit and allowing you to take advantage of strategic opportunities when they make solid business sense. Oracle s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is both the product line and partner of choice when it comes to addressing the needs of mid-enterprise manufacturing and distribution companies, as well as asset-intensive companies. The goals of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne are to improve your total ownership experience, provide an environment and platform that can be leveraged for greater functionality, and reduce overall IT costs. With the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 release, Oracle continues to deliver value to the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne customer base. This latest release provides enhanced business functionality across the suite (Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management, Financial Management and Human Capital Management), offers greater usability and performance, and drives improvement in cost of ownership. In addition 8.12 offers strategic new software modules that help lower costs and drive new levels of revenue. The functional business enhancements in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 include a broad set of capabilities to address the needs of various mid-enterprise customers from the specific shipping sequence requirements of Automotive Suppliers and OEM s to the general need of businesses to control inquiry and approval processes associated with employee leave. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 new software modules include Operational Sourcing to aid customers in management and control of RFx processes, as well as a series of products - Grower Management, Blend Management and Grower Pricing and Payments - to address the production and supply management needs of the agri-business, agri-beverage and wine industries. Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 strives to deliver on our commitments to our installed base customers and target markets while it extends the functionality needed to address everchanging markets. Supply Management - Procurement New Module: Operational Sourcing Target Industries: Any organization that procures commodities from a large number of suppliers Mid-sized enterprises, whether in manufacturing, distribution or asset-intensive industries, are continually pushed to drive cost down. In order to reduce costs today, companies must optimize their relationship with their suppliers while ensuring they receive the best quality and price for their goods and services. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Operational Sourcing is concentrated on providing the primary functionality to create, manage and award an RFx sourcing event for a mixture of inventory items or services using the internet as the communication medium between the buyer and bidders. This solution is designed for mid-enterprise companies or autonomous divisions of larger organizations where consolidation of enterprise-wide quantities is not required. This new module is fully integrated into the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne supply chain and procurement offering. The result is a solution that encompasses all phases of an integrated supplier life cycle, starting with making critical sourcing decisions to supplier payments. 3

Key Features and Benefits: Streamline and automate RFI and RFQ processes Ensure consistent sourcing and award processes Make intelligent supplier decisions based on qualitative and non qualitative attributes Supply Management New Module: Grower Management Target Industries: Agri-business Crop Growers are refining their growing processes through identifying and duplicating successful techniques. Tracking the attributes of a block of land and the operations performed throughout the growing period has been difficult to capture, but vital to understanding the effects on crop production and maturity dates. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Grower Management allows growers to capture both the vital block details and attributes, as well and the activities performed throughout the entire growing season. Key Features and Benefits: Manage Land Attributes: Increase productivity by quickly accessing data regarding the block of land. Information like the address of the block, the key contacts with phone numbers and significant dates requiring action are available from the Harvest Workbench. Harvest Estimate Tracking: Understand supply by tracking the harvest estimate for each block of land. Early detection of undersupply can be offset with spot buys that are fully negotiated. Scheduling: Improve efficiency by quickly scheduling farming activities and the appropriate farm staff and equipment. Activity costing: Roll up each activity cost into the total operational cost of the crop. Use this information to benchmark activities and attributes that improve crop production in a cost effective manner. Maturity Date: Track the maturity date for each block, so harvesting activities can be scheduled in advance. Crop Receiving: Efficiently receive crops into internal processing facilities from internal or external farms and capture weight, grade and quality results. The lot information from the crop or blend management complies with the FDA's Section 306 of the Bioterrorrism Act. Integrated to Grower Pricing and Payments: Easily integrate crop contracts entered in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Grower Pricing and Payments to secure accurate crop pricing and adjustments. Supply Management New Module: Grower Pricing and Payments Target Industries: Agri-business Success in agri-business is tied to the ability to gain control over supply. Today s agri-business producers are looking to establish agreements and then track and monitor compliance of terms and conditions with their growers. While many software vendors have solutions that can create a contract document and retain all the revisions and amendments, few are able to provide detailed compliance tracking. 4

The new JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Grower Pricing and Payment solution is designed to help agri-business producers gain visibility and control over their contracts with growers. This module, fully integrated with the new Grower Management offering, will enable companies to enter pertinent terms and conditions in the system and effectively edit and monitor them for compliance. Key Features and Benefits: Grower Contract term tracking: Tracks contract length terms with renewal extensions, quality terms, action date table, contract clauses and more. Advanced Pricing: Provides enhanced features such as minimum/maximum price, matrix pricing, and pricing based on quality results during receipts. Settlements: Provides a flexible payment schedule that allows multiple payees with multiple payment dates. Payment dates can be based on advance payments, percent payments after harvesting starts and a final payment that pulls together other additions, deductions and assessments to fully net out the final harvest payment. Integration with Grower Management module: Enables tracking crops from cultivation to harvest. The contract details provide additional data to the Grower Block and Harvest information for a total agri-business solution for seasonal or annual crops. Supply Chain Management - Manufacturing New Module: Blend Management Target Industries: Agri-Beverage, Wine Increasing global competition, mergers and acquisitions and technical innovations in the agribeverage and wine industry are forcing producers to seek fully integrated business automation solutions based on ERP to help improve operational effectiveness and efficiency. These producers are looking for increased visibility, repeatable processes and quality control. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Blend Management is a solution that addresses the growing requirements of the agri-beverage industry. This EnterpriseOne module focuses on tracking lot attributes from the source of supply through to the bottled finished product with a goal of driving process repeatability, label integrity and award-winning results. This new offering is also fully integrated with existing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP systems such as inventory, address book, procurement and accounting for end-to-end business visibility and control. Key Features and Benefits: Maintain key lot attributes: Lot attributes are recalculated whenever an activity is performed against a blend lot. In addition, because work can be scheduled into the future, any change to any of these lot attributes on the current lot is pushed forward to all associated activities in the future. Lot attributes include: o Source composition (harvest, variety and appellation, expressed in percentages) o End use reservation (intended use of the material) o Cumulative additives (expressed in parts per million) Define and manage blend activities: The ability to define an overall blend process with configured operation types gives producers control and visibility. Each configured operation drives display and validation of entered data and defines the costing, accounting and reporting methods. Types of base operations include: o Simple movements single from vessel, single to vessel 5

o Complex Movements multiple vessels on either from or to side o Additions of non bulk material o In-place operations such as stirring, temperature control o Receipt and Shipment Weigh tag, Bill of Lading and Bottling. These create entries into ERP inventory. Manage Vessels: Provides the ability to view the current blend lot attributes in a vessel, as well as planned lots from future operations, and a history of lots from completed operations. Instruct Work Activities (operations): Provides ability to define any process, or group of processes that have measurable inputs and outputs. Operations may have related equipment, consumables, staff allocation and instructions on how to perform the operation. Each operation creates a blend lot as an output, even if scheduled into the future after other work activities. The system recalculates the chain of operations and lot attributes if the user updates a previous operation. Manage Volumes of Spirit: Supports both temperature and % alcohol parameters. Simulate Trial Blends: Allows producers to assess blend lot attributes without instructing work. This application includes a goal seeking function, where the user can have the system calculate the quantity of a specified blend lot to add to a trial blend to reach a specified attribute value. Supply Chain Management - Demand Scheduling Execution and Order Fulfillment Enhancement: Transportation Shipment Sequencing Target Industries: Automotive, OEM suppliers to white goods manufacturers, suppliers of food and beverage containers, and electronic component suppliers Suppliers today face increasing demands from their manufacturing customers who are moving to lean and demand flow processes. To be a supplier in good standing, continue to deliver on contractual commitments and gain new business suppliers, one must respond to requests and in some industries meet mandated standards for EDI order processing, shipment scheduling, package labeling and even the order in which shipments are packed. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Demand Scheduling Execution provides compatibility with OEM standards and is designed to reduce the operating expenses of OEM suppliers associated with: Complex contract management Manual clerical activity Costly order fulfillment errors Built on existing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne forecasting, sales order, shipping, and EDI capabilities, this solution provides integrated and automated handling of demand and cumulative schedules, release shipping, and automotive advanced ship notices (ASNs). Sequence Demand and Delivery: Process inbound demand, create sales orders, then pick, pack, and ship product corresponding to a specific job and item delivery sequence number. This capability allows suppliers to deliver product to their customers manufacturing production lines in the exact sequence in which the parts are required. 6

EDI Transaction Capture: To reduce costs of manual data entry and associated errors, Transportation Shipment Sequencing supports capture of shipment job and sequence number through inbound EDI 862, 866, DELJIT transactions. Theses transactions will be interpreted against a set of user configured rules to determine the item, quantity, and associated sequence number to pass to the sales order and transportation shipment. Shipment Job and Sequencing direct to Order Fulfillment: For customers that do not use EDI transactions or the Demand Scheduling Execution module, the shipment job and item sequence values can be manually entered on the sales order, or mapped by the customer through other interoperable methods that can create the sales order detail. Carton Recommendations and Label Information: Provides labels that identify the customer's shipping sequence number or range of sequence numbers associated with a specific carton and then identify the cartons as X of Y (e.g. 1 of 50) to support loading the vehicle in the correct shipment sequencing order. The sequencing will support a multi-level shipping structure such as cartons within pallets within a shipment. Additional Enhancements: Carton packing recommendations and the outbound Advanced Shipping Notice (EDI 856, DESADV) support both job and item sequence numbers. Define how to match payments within the Accounts Receivable application (i.e. job and job sequence number, job, sequence and item number, item number). Human Capital Management (HCM) Enhancement: HCM Enhancements Target Industries: General Effective workforce management is an integral part of any organization s operational strategy. The ability to quickly respond to rapid growth, market and strategy changes, take advantage of new technologies, and optimize assets while reducing costs are all key drivers for Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions. Companies are challenged every day to maintain legislative compliance, provide timely and accurate management and financial reporting, and maintain employee productivity and performance. At the same time, they face an ongoing need to hire the right individuals and to control the risks and costs associated with managing this ever-changing asset. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne HCM is a mature application suite offering comprehensive, flexible solutions with unique value to mid-enterprise companies. With the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne HCM 8.12 release, we bring added flexibility to tools you use on a daily basis to source, manage and pay your workforce. The features in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne HCM 8.12 will bring enhanced usability and improved value to our customers in all regions and industries. Improved Tracking of External Training/Competencies: Skills and Competency functionality is being extended to provide customers with more efficiency and easier tracking of external training completed by employees. Extended Search Capabilities in erecruit: Identifying qualified candidates easily and efficiently is core to the productivity of the recruiting process. Adds easier and more powerful search over the resume, cover letter, and other erecruit personal information in order to identify potential job candidates. Functionality includes: o The ability to enter a query string (i.e. Boolean logic) for a search o Applicant data fields have been incorporated with the keyword search 7

DBA Enhancements: DBAs (deductions, benefits and accruals) are the heart of many of the HCM functions and they support functionality in HR, Payroll and Time and Labor. The benefits of the enhancements in this core area will be evident across the suite. Some of the enhancements include: o DBA calculations will be able to utilize any of the user defined date fields in the employee master. o When a void check is processed, recalculate remaining balances on declining balance DBAs when the balance has gone to zero. o Utilization of spouse date of birth, age and insurance coverage amount for life insurance calculations. o Provide for a sixth pay period for DBA calculations. o Provide the ability to preserve customization in tables when JD Edwards EnterpriseOne updates are received. o Provide the ability to override inception to date limits on DBA instructions and calculation tables. The inception to date limit controls the available balance that an employee may carry and limits any additional accrued amounts that may exceed the limit. The override will allow the user to setup differing inception to date limits without having to create multiple available accrual codes to maintain the limits. Human Capital Management (HCM) Enhancement: Payroll Enhancements Target Industries: General Effective Dated PDBA Rate Changes: Payroll efficiency and accuracy is dramatically improved by automating PDBA (Pay, Deductions, Benefits, and Accrual) rate changes that occur during the middle of a payroll cycle. Users will be able to simply enter a rate into the system with an effective date and the system will do the rest, ensuring for example that an employee s pay rate increase goes into effective on the first of the month. Work Schedules: Provides more robust leave administration capabilities including: o Easily established schedules for groups of employees o Generation of timecards from work and holiday schedules for employees o Automatic adjustments to employee requests for leave reflecting paid holidays that fall during the employees requested leave time Leave Administration: Allows for greater automation and enhanced inquiry and approval processes, including: o Automatic generation of daily timecards when employees request a leave expressed as a range of dates o Global Leave Planning to review and approve leave request on a day by day basis o Automated Sick Certification processes o Requests to be paid for leave in advance through employee self service 8

Human Capital Management (HCM) Enhancement: Time and Labor ESS/MSS Time Cards Target Industries: General Self-service applications can provide outstanding return on investment, and we are continuing our investment in this area to ensure that these applications are providing maximum value to our customers. Pre-evaluated Time Card Conditions: Gives managers the ability to review and approve time cards that have already been evaluated for conditions such as overtime. Managers will have more visibility and control over their labor costs as they can readily see what type of time (regular, overtime, etc.) is entered by their employees. Request for Future Leave and Advanced Pay: Employees will now be able to enter request for leave for future dates, and indicate that they are requesting to be paid in advance of being away on the requested leave. Configure Time Entry Card Viewing: Provide Professional Users with the ability to control which Time Entry timecards employees and managers are able to view in ESS/MSS time entry applications. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Enhancement: Advanced Pricing Enhancements Target Industries: Distribution Effective pricing strategies increase revenues and customer satisfaction. Flexibility and usability of your pricing engine assist in accomplishing this. Since JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.9, several enhancements have been delivered to increase the effectiveness of Advanced Pricing, available in Sales Order Management and Procurement, to enable you to implement and manage sophisticated pricing strategies. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 continues along this path targeting both flexibility and usability. Skip to Logic: The Advanced Pricing Adjustment Schedule allows companies to define the evaluation sequence of pricing adjustments. With Skip To you can add additional logic to allow the system to move to a different sequence when an adjustment qualifies. This allows for the creation of branching logic in pricing schedules. Price Matrix: Provides improved usability in the mass maintenance of base prices (defined as override prices). Once defined, users can maintain multiple pricing scenarios in one screen and define basic formulas based on other intersections in the matrix. Price Override Flexibility: In environments where customer service representatives or sales people have the authority to override prices on Sales Orders, those orders should still be eligible for pricing adjustments such as rebates and accruals. With JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 now you can identify those adjustments and ensure that they are applied. This holds true for Purchase Orders priced through Advanced Pricing as well. Accelerated Pricing Resolution: Improved Advanced Pricing resolution response through a new option to load pricing information into memory. Pricing data loaded into memory can be accessed more quickly speeding up business processes where Advanced Pricing is used, including Sales Order Entry. 9

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Enhancement: CRM Foundation Activity Usability Target Industries: General JD Edwards EnterpriseOne delivers CRM as a series of components side by side with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne SCM and ERP: one architecture and tool, one database, one data model. The resulting embedded CRM is driving new levels of operational information visibility and use (manufacturing, supply chain), while engaging in customer facing processes. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Activities consist of calendar entries, or time sensitive events, and tasks which have begin and end dates, but are not time-sensitive. Additional usability and configuration options within JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 Activities enhance your capabilities to drive more revenue and operational efficiencies through greater business insight. Reduced Keystrokes on Activity entry: Reducing keystrokes by adding defaults for activity type, identifier type, and duration, for example. Participant Tab: Moving participants to a separate tab to make them more visible improves navigation and reduces keystrokes. Related Case and Opportunity: Increasing visibility by showing the related case or opportunity from within activity detail and allowing one-click access to case or opportunity detail. Financial Management - Asset Management Enhancement: Fixed Asset Accounting Usability Target Industries: General Companies are always looking to improve the efficiency in completing common financial and asset management tasks. With this goal in mind JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 Fixed Asset Accounting provides: o Greater flexibility and usability in implementation o Increased usability in the daily and periodic use of setup and operational programs o Enhanced ability to handle complex accounting and regulatory requirements often required in multi-company and multi-country deployments. Improved Depreciation Defaults: Provides greater flexibility in defining depreciation defaults by optionally allowing definition by major accounting and equipment class. Asset Disposal: Enhanced support in the disposal of assets with multiple tax books, allowing the use of the account post code "Machine Only" for depreciation entries, thus ensuring these accounts are protected from manual journal entries. Depreciation Conventions: Enhanced support for midyear and mid-quarter depreciation conventions. Asset Transfers: Enhanced support for the transfer of assets between companies with different base currencies. 10

Conclusion Oracle delivers on its commitment to enhance and extend functionality and to solve real business problems, with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12. With 4 new product modules plus enhancements in Human Capital Management, Financial Management and Customer Relationship Management, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 continues to improve your total ownership experience and helps you achieve bottom-line results. 11
