Construction The bulk powder container is mainly composed of frame, tank and pipe system. The tank is connected to the frames by two-barrel supports and two saddles. 3.1 Tank container frame The container frame shall be composed of front and rear end frames, top and bottom side rails, two (2) barrel supports, two (2) saddle s, eight (8) corner fittings. 3.1.1 Each end frame is constructed by two (2) corner posts, top and bottom end rails, and four (4) thick diagonal corner plates. 3.1.1.1 The corner fittings made of weldable cast steel SCW49 will be designed in accordance with ISO 1161 and manufactured at the works approved by classification society. 3.1.1.2 Each corner post is made of two C shape steel pressings which weld together to form a hollow section with dimension of 174x154xt6.0 by continuous welding. 3.1.1.3 Each top and bottom rail is made of 120 x80 xt5.0 rectangular tubes. 3.1.1.4 Each thick diagonal corner plate is made of a t5.0 mm pressing. 3.1.2 Each bottom side rail is build of "H" type section steel with dimension of 200x100x8x5.5mm. 3.1.3 There are two pieces of top side rails at each side. Both the upper and the lower are made of 80x40xt3.0 rectangular tubes. - 3 -
- 3-3.1.4 Each barrel support is a short cylinder made of 4.0 mm thick high tensile steel. 3.1.4 Two saddles are welded to the bottom of the tank used as the tank auxiliary support and load transfer Each saddle support is build of a base plate, a vertical plate and several ribs. 3.2 Tank body The tank body is a weld structure consisting of one (1) cylindrical shell, two (2) dished ends, and two manholes. The HERMANNS Aeration and Conveyance fluidizing system for the discharge of powder is installed at the bottom of the inside of the tank. 3.2.1 The dia. 2400mm cylindrical shell is of Q345B, t4.5mm thick steel plate. 3.2.2. Each dished end is shaped by hot pressing with Q345 B, t5.0 mm steel plate. 3.2.3 The manhole of dia.500mm shall be composed of a short cylinder, a cover, six (6) swing locking-nuts, a hinge and a gasket. 3.3 Pipe system 3.3.1 The dry compressed airflow via 100 mm cam-lock type joint enters into a main pipe with a 2.5" one-way valve, a 2" safety valve, 1/2"safety valve and a pressure gauge, then goes into two air cavities at each side of the inside of the tank through two branch pipes which separately connected to the tank and main pipe. Another airflow goes through a 1.2" ball valve and a 1.2" one-way valve into the unloading pipe in order to speed up unloading powder. The diameter of main pipe is 76mm and the branch pipe is 57mm. 3.3.2 The unloading pipe is made of 4" steel pipe. One discharge butterfly valve and one 4" male adaptor are fixed on the discharge pipe. 3.3.3 Two 1" ball valves shall be fitted on the top of the tank nearby the manholes. 3.4.4 1.5 side vent pipe from tank top terminated in a ball valve will be provided. 3.4 External fitting 3.4.1 Walkways: Two longitudinal walkways made of steel-net shall be fixed at the each side of the manholes. 3.4.2 Ladder: One ladder is to be fitted at each end of the container and the inside of the tank at the position of the rear manhole. 3.4.3 Customs seal: Customs seal provision must be made on the air inlet, manholes, and unloading outlet in accordance with TIR requirements. 4. Preservation 4.1 Surface treatment All steel parts shall be shot-blasted to Swedish Standard Sa2.5, and immediately spraying 10 to 15 micron thick Zinc-Rich Primer. 4.2 Coating system 4.2.1 After general assembly, all weld seams shall be shot-blasted to Swedish Standard Sa2.5. Any welding slag, spatters and foreign matters shall be removed. 4.2.2 The container has following paint system. Exterior coating system Zinc-rich primer: 30 um Epoxy primer: 40 um Polyurethane top coat: 40 um 110 um(tdft) The inside surface of the tank only coated with 20 to 25 um Zinc-rich primer. - 4 -
