Black Sea Medal Bulgaria Ms. Atanaska Nikolova
Ms. Atanaska Nikolova graduated from the Technical University of Sofia and has a Master's Degree in biotechnology and engineering ecology. She has a MSc Degree in environmental protection and sustainable development. Ms Nikolova has specialized in planning, environmental policies development and development of strategies for sustainable local and regional development in Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom, USA, Hungary and Russia. Since 1999 she has been working in the non-governmental sector as a project manager and an expert in environmental management and sustainable local development. Over 30 international and national projects have been successfully completed under her leadership. Ms Nikolova consulted the development of strategic documents on the national and local level. She has participated in the creation of the Regional Plan for the Development of the South East Planning Region and also the National Report "Millennium Development Goals", Bulgaria 2008. In 2008-2009 she was Director of the "European Integration" Directorate of the Municipality of Burgas. Since 2009 she is Deputy Mayor in charge of "European Policies and Programs, Environment". In 2014 for 3 months she was appointed Deputy Minister of Environment and Water. Fluent in English and Russian.
Black Sea Medal Georgia Mr. David Nikoleishvili
Mr. David Nikoleishvili, 20.01.1960 - Tbilisi, Georgia ; 1983 studied at Poti Marine School to become a vessel electrician. 1983-1984 worked on various fishing vessels belonging to the High Seas Fisheries Management of Poti in the Atlantic Ocean; 1985-1990 studied at Riga Technical Fishery Institute, Latvia, at a Water Bio-resources and Aquaculture faculty on Marine ecology specialist. 1984-1986 worked as a sailor on the fishery vessels at Baltic Sea Fishery Management. 1987-1993 worked at Scientific-Technical Institute of Water Ecology in Highlands Water Reservoirs and Sea laboratory. 1987 have accomplished Divers school and certificated as a diver of the third category. 1987 1988 have taken part in some speleo expeditions including cave diving in Georgia and Russia. 1988 - In summer during 3 month I worked as diver on short time contract in Gelenjik (Black Sea cost) at the Oceanography Institute Scientists Academy of former USSR. 1988-89 have taken part in some archeology expeditions on the Georgian Black Sea Cost as well Paliastomi Lake. The results were published in the book The Archeology of Phasis valley (1992). - 1994, 4 July, together with my colleagues, young marine experts and interested people, I established «MARINE ASSOCIATION POSEIDON», where I am working till present. - 2001, 26 January according with my project and supervision a tourist Agency Black sea Travel in Capital of Georgia -Tbilisi and two Diving centers on the Black Sea coast in Chakvi Resort have been founded. (near the Batumi city). I am one of co-founders of this firm and a member of Director Board. Our diving centre is first and sole In Georgia. -1999, 10 November together with adherents we have officially founded and registered a new NGO «GEORGIAN UNDERWATER ASSOCIATION» within <POSEIDON> basis where I was elected as cochairman. - 2008, 8 Februari. Director and founder at Ltd Intellect Center. - 2010, 20 December. Director and founder at Ltd Poseidons World. - 2012.15.12-2014 30 August. Technical manager of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GBP).

Mr. Vladimir V. Erygin Date of Birth: 25.11.1955 Education: High education, graduated from the Novorossiysk Higher Engineering Maritime College, 1984 Speciality: Navigation, qualification engineer-navigator, Candidate of Technical Sciences Since 1997 till 2014 Harbour Master of port Novorossiysk, since 2014 Head of Black Sea Maritime Ports Administration. Secure system of safety of navigation was elaborated, complex system of ecological safety management and automated hydromeorological monitoring systems were developed and successfully implemented under the guidance of V. Erygin in the largest maritime port Novorossiysk on the Black Sea. Sixty search-and-rescue operations were carried out with the personal participation of V.Erygin; more than 400 people in distress at sea were rendered assistance. A pioneer project on ships ballast water control and ecosystem monitoring of the biodiversity of the Black Sea coastal waters was successfully implemented under the guidance of V.Erygin in cooperation with the Southern Regional Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation. No ballast water discharge, harmful to biological resources of the Black Sea, has been detected since 2004. The international project on oil pollution control of the Black Sea based on space monitoring technology was realized with the personal participation of V.Erygin in cooperation with engineeringtechnological Centre Skanex, which resulted in considerable decrease of illegal discharges from vessels in the eastern part of the Black Sea. Technical policy, pursued under the guidance of V.Erygin, enable to minimize to single cases the number of incidents involving oil spillage in water areas of the Black Sea maritime ports while reloading oil and oil products and carrying out bunkering operations. Large-scale international training on the program of oil spillage elimination was organized and carried out with the involvement of Novorossiysk port complex enterprises in 2004 and 2006. Successful measures were taken on shipwreck liquidation following the hurricane of 2007 in the Kerch Strait.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Öztürk (09.08.1953-) (Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Undersecretary) Ankara/TURKEY Prof. Dr. Mustafa ÖZTÜRK has graduated from Chemical Engineering in İstanbul University. Later, completed PhD degree in Environmental Engineering of İstanbul Technical University. He started working as an assistant proffessor at Yıldız Technical University. Assuming title of proffessor in 1995, he worked as chairman of the Department of Environment and deputy chairman of department of Environmental Engineering. He successfully accomplished his duties as İstanbul Municipality - Head of Environmental Protection and Development Department, Chaiman of Non-Sanitary Enterprises Board. He became deputy undersecretary responsible of environment at Ministry of Environment and Forestry and he assumed focal point of monitoring of EU projects. He has over 50 national and international articles, assertations and 5 books. He is member of parliament for XXIII period pp. city of Hatay and member of EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee. Prof. Dr. Mustafa ÖZTÜRK has been assuming undersecretary of Ministry of Environment and Urbanization since 27.01.2014. Black Sea Medal Ukraine Mr. Yuriy M. Denga
Mr. Yuriy M. Denga (18.02.1947) - Head of the Department of Analytical Research and Monitoring Organization of the Ukrainian Scientific Centre of Ecology of the Sea (UkrSCES) Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Odessa, Ukraine Yuriy М. Denga started his active involvement in the international environmental movement for the protection of the Black Sea in 1993 as national focal point for inventory of the Black Sea land-based sources in the framework of the regional program - Black Sea Environmental Program. Since that time he took part in twenty one meetings of Advisory Group of Pollution Monitoring and Assessment (AG PMA) of the Black Sea Commission, contributed to the preparation of Black Sea Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programmed (BSIMAP), prepared and submitted to the Black Sea Commission s Secretariat annual reports on the state of Ukraine's Black Sea environment, developed recommendations for harmonization of methods for analysis of pollutants in marine sediments and inter comparison exercises. His contribution to the successes of the Black Sea Ecosystem Recovery project, organization of the marine cruises in the framework of this project, participation in a number of TACIS projects, other scientific projects and studies is indispensible. His hard work, highest level of expertise in chemistry of the Black Sea makes him known as one of the most recognized Black Sea experts. Warm and friendly human touch in communication with people, his sense of humor is loved and appreciated by his colleagues and friends.
