1 VITERA (GREENWAY) INTERGY 9.0 MEDICAL REVIEW Corporate Background Vitera Intergy is a veteran Practice Management and EMR/EHR product that has changed hands and names a number of times. Though most users still know the product as Vitera Intergy, it is sometimes called Greenway Intergy. The original medical practice management product, Medical Manger, came into use in 1977 by the Medical manager company. In the year 2000 Medical Manager was bought by the Emdeon company. Also in 2000, Medical Manager was bought again, this time by the company that became Sage Software Healthcare, Inc. firstthe earlier named product Sage Software Healthcare, Inc., and founded in 2000 bought and rebranded Medical Manager software from Healtheon (currently known as Emdeon). It originally provided EMR and PM for healthcare providers, and included all the standard EMR and PM functions: Intergy which includes an EHR system, a PM system for administrative operations such as scheduling, eligibility verification, billing, and collections, a practice analytics system, and a patient portal. The products is sometimes referred to as Greenway s Intergy Suite. In 2011 Sage was acquired by the San Francisco-based Vista company and renamed Vitera Healthcare Solutions. The EHR product that was formerly called Sage Intergy was acquired by Vista Equity Partners, and was renamed Vitera Healthcare. In June of 2013 Vitera acquired SuccessEHS, Inc, another EMR product. In November of 2013 Vista Equity Partners fully acquired Greenway Medical and combined it with Vitera and a third EMR, SuccessEHS,, rebranding the company as Greenway Health. Market Sector Vitera Intergy provides of EHR and practice management software serving approximately 85,000 physicians. Vitera can meet the needs of any sized practice, but it is a powerful enough PM solution to meet the needs of a large, multi-site practice seeking an Enterprise solution with Vitera. Vitera Intergy enables physician clients to streamline key administrative activities, such as patient scheduling and medical billing, and to automate paper-based clinical activities into an electronic format. It is one of the largest providers of EHR and other medical management software in the United States. Vitera Healthcare Solutions provides electronic health records and practice management systems, processes 33 million transactions and 2 million e-prescriptions monthly, and serves several specialties including primary care, OB/GYN, pediatrics, cardiology and orthopedics in all sized practices and Community Health Centers. 2 Medical Software Solutions: Vitera offers two comprehensive medical software solutions: Vitera Intergy, It s flagship EHR, and Vitera Medical Manager. In 2013, the two products were integrated as Vitera Medical Manager EHR. Vitera Medical manager is a tried and true practice management tool. The new Version 12 (and the older and still very usable Version 11) release integrates with Vitera s Meaningful Use Certified EHR and available for Windows, SCO UNIX and LINUX. It is 5010 & ICD-10 Ready. Vitera Intergy runs in two alternative modes, client-server based (on premise), and subscription based SAAS. The whole system runs off a single database integrated with the practice management system. Vitera Intergy supports Clinical Standards for data integration, data sharing, and interoperability with other vendors. Vitera also offers Vitera Stat, for smaller practices. This is a cloud-based solution which is less expensive and less comprehensive (that is, it has fewer functions), but also Meaningful Use certified. Meaningful Use: Vitera Healthcare Solutions Intergy EHR Received 2014 ONC-HIT Certification and supports Stage 1 and 2 Meaningful Use measures to qualify eligible providers for incentive payments. Vitera Entergy Meaningful Use Edition includes Vitera Intergy EHR, Vitera Intergy Practice Portal, and Meaningful Use Dashboards (available with Vitera Practice Analytics or Vitera Practice Analytics Quality Measures Edition). Waits for technical support and help have become longer. Reporting: Vitera Practice Analytics offers many standard reports the ability to create ad-hoc reports. Practice Analytics can be integrated with Intergy, Intergy EHR, The Medical Manager, and HealthPro XL as well as Intergy RIS. Vitera Practice Analytics is a statistical and reporting tool that gives the Practice Manager: Graphical and intuitive financial dashboards tools to gauge practice performance Meaningful use criteria dashboards, for tracking and reporting performance against CMS requirements Strong ad-hoc report writing to compare statistical information Mobile Solutions Greenway / Vitera Intergy offers Mobile apps available for Android, Apple and other windows devices. The Greenway /Vitera products allow doctors to access records securely from wherever they are. Using
4 an ipad device, you can access their appointment schedules, task lists, and patient clinical data at any time and from anywhere. There is an added cost for use of VItera Mobile, as there are for other add-ons. The Intergy database is compliant with Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) technology for Structured Query Language (SQL) 9.2. Intergy utilizes the standard HL7 (V2.3.1) Messaging Protocol for facilitating the movement of data between the Intergy practice management system and remote (disparate) database applications. Training and Customer Support: Training solutions at Vitera are structured to follow a defined curriculum that is specifically designed for your company. Distinct training will be defined for different sorts of user: clinical, management, front-
5 desk, billing, etc. Vitera staff will help you outline the topics to be covered, the training methods to be employed, and the time required for each. Training can be offered in various venues: on-location, or online, for individuals or for groups. There is some free training and Webinars offered online. Pricing for direct, one-to-one support, of course, will vary depending on need. Vitera maintains a large Customer Support Center in Tampa, FL. Vitera offers Silver, Gold, and Platinum 'tiered' service levels on selected products. Obviously, the greater level of support will be more expensive. Pricing: Pricing structure varies very much by size and the nature of installation and depends on the number of practice locations and how many members of your staff will be using the software. When you consider pricing, you must take into account that many functions of the system may be add-ons rather than basic parts, and will carry additional costs. Though Vitera doesn t seem to publish such figures, certain consultants do. Talk to a Vitera VAR to get a better idea of price for an installation like yours.
