Rajiv Gandhi International Airport World-class and Futuristic Keeping pace with the development and the potential, the city has Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, India's first Greenfield Airport under international competitive bidding, has been developed through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative. The project partners are GMR Group, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, Government of Andhra Pradesh and Airports Authority of India (AAI). Spread over an area of 5,495 acres at Shamshabad, the airport is 25km from the city centre of Hyderabad. The terminal building is designed to handle 12 million passengers per annum and the cargo terminal has a capacity of 150,000 metric tonnes per annum. The ultimate capacity will cater to 40 million passengers per annum and 1.5 million tonnes of cargo per annum. This will be achieved as the present master plan allows freedom of expansion to both the air side, as well as the landside facilities, within the airport site. ABOUT US In order to build a world class service facility that exceeds customers expectations, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited, the operator of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad formed a joint venture company called the Hyderabad Menzies Air Cargo Pvt. Ltd (HMACPL) with Menzies Aviation Plc, UK, a globally leading cargo and ground handling operator. The Air Cargo Complex at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport was commissioned in 2008. It is the foremost cargo complex in India to have implemented the concept of an Integrated Cargo Facility with both domestic and international facilities under one seamless roof. With a built-in area of 14,330 Sq meters, the Air Cargo Complex is a smart modular building with a capacity to handle cargo throughput of 150,000 MT annually. It has a dedicated cargo apron facility for handling regular freighter operations as well as charters.

The cargo facility at Hyderabad Airport covers an area of 10 acres including 3 acres dedicated for cargo processing and storage area. Ample area for both international and domestic cargo handling is available under one single roof making cargo handling much simpler for customers. PHARMA ZONE Pharmaceutical Cold Storage Facility Hyderabad, the hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing has seen various companies shipping Pharma products to various parts of the world. Opportunities at FTWZ: Warehousing - The facilities provided at FTWZ would help logistics companies to warehouse their commodities for both short and long term without impact on import duty. Free Trade Warehousing Zone The FTWZ is located two kilometers east of the Passenger Terminal Building of the Hyderabad Airport while the Logistics/FTWZ precinct is approximately 19.85 acres in area. The site is high quality, ideal with flat & barren characteristics and is currently under the possession of GHIAL notified as Aviation SEZ. The FTWZ site includes direct road access which is strategically significant for future development of the logistics precinct. Distribution - The FTWZ will allow companies to leverage its state-of-the-art infrastructure warehouses, not only for Indian distribution but also international distribution covering international end users as well. It will provide an opportunity for effective re-export of commodities with facilities for sorting, grading, kitting and repackaging etc. It would also provide an opportunity to undertake value added activities like reverse logistics apart from general cargo handling Trading - FTWZ entails re-export, re-sale and reinvoice of goods without any restriction. The goods will also be traded in Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) by payment of customs duties as applicable at the time of sale. Following the Lease Rental Model, we can build the facility and lease it / rent it to potential partners and interested parties.
