What is this course about? 1.1 Course description In delivering the best value to consumers, retailers today are not just a channel partner for moving goods from manufacturers to consumer, but they often control entire supply chains. They are involved in organising and managing key in the supply chain from production to consumption. This course focuses on examining particularities of retail supply chains, e.g., how retailers understand their customers expectations and respond through effective supply chain management. 1.2 Course content The course covers the following: Retail Industry; Retail competition, organisations and formats; Retail strategic planning and management; Retail customers/demand Various aspects of retail supply chain management I, II and III (e.g. types of supply chains, retailersupplier relationships, collaboration, merchandising buying and handling, store layout and design, supply chain constraints, postponement and efficient consumer response ECR ); Retail customer service; Managing retail performance; Retail innovation, technologies and information systems, Future of retailing. 2. Retail SCM written Report This is a group assessment. The details of assignment tasks will be made available in your Workbook. This information will also be made available on Blackboard in week 1. You should submit your group assignment via Safeassign on Blackboard on or before Friday 5.00pm (AEST) Week 12. Criteria Demonstration of an understanding of various relevant retail supply chain concepts/dimensions/formats. Explanation of different retail supply chain industry drivers. Application of supply chain knowledge to retail situations. Analysis of retail supply chains. Marks will be allocated using the marking guide which will be made available on Blackboard (please check your WORKBOOK on blackboard for the details of marking criteria). The assessment criteria also include: logical development of arguments in presenting your analysis, generation of conclusions and recommendations, error free writing with appropriate formatting, use of relevant credible sources and appropriate referencing style, collaboration among group members (peer evaluation report)

Product: Exam Format: Individual - A 120 minute end-of-semester exam will be held during the central exam period. Criteria The marks for each question will be indicated in your exam paper. For marking consistency, a marks moderation meeting will be held with all markers. The following criteria will be used for assessment: Demonstration of an understanding of various relevant retail supply chain concepts/dimensions/formats Explanation of different retail supply chain industry drivers Application of supply chain knowledge to retail situations Generic skill assessed Skill assessment level Organisation Applying technologies 5.3 Additional assessment requirements Plagiarism In order to minimise incidents of plagiarism and collusion, this course may require that some of its assessment tasks, when submitted to Blackboard, are electronically checked through SafeAssign. This software allows for text comparisons to be made between your submitted assessment item and all other work that SafeAssign has access to. Eligibility for Supplementary Assessment Your eligibility for supplementary assessment in a course is dependent of the following conditions applying: a) The final mark is in the percentage range 47% to 49.4% b) The course is graded using the Standard Grading scale c) You have not failed an assessment task in the course due to academic misconduct 5.4 Submission penalties Late submission of assessment tasks will be penalised at the following maximum rate: 5% (of the assessment task s identified value) per day for the first two days from the date identified as the due date for the assessment task. 10% (of the assessment task s identified value) for the third day 20% (of the assessment task s identified value) for the fourth day and subsequent days up to and including seven days from the date identified as the due date for the assessment task. A result of zero is awarded for an assessment task submitted after seven days from the date identified as the due date for the assessment task. Weekdays and weekends are included in the calculation of days late. To request an extension you must contact your course coordinator to negotiate an outcome.
