17 2017-2018 18 withum strength awards Recognizing our staff for excellence and leadership in internal and external client service, community service, innovation, marketing, and outstanding achievement.

The Withum Strength Awards are presented annually in recognition of outstanding accomplishment and distinguished service; achievements that have enhanced the Firm s, a client s, or a Community Service Organization s position of strength. Nominations may be made by Withum staff, clients, or members of the community service organizations we serve, during the annual nominating period: June 1 November 15th. All nominations must be received in Human Resources, by close of business, November 15 th to be considered. Supporting endorsements should be submitted along with the Nomination Form. Self nominations are permitted. Nominations are only good for the year in which they are submitted. Nominations may be made by completing the appropriate nomination form, submitting it to the nominee s PIC, or Partner with department oversight responsibility, with required supporting documentation, for review and consideration, at least 2 days prior to the November 15 th deadline. PIC/Partner with department oversight responsibility will review nominations. There will be a limit of one (1) nominee per office/department, per category. Individuals may only be nominated for one category. PIC/Partner with oversight responsibility will forward nominations to Joan Kampo, Director of Human Resources by the deadline date. The Administrative Strength Award is open to all staff below Director. All other awards are open to all staff below Partner level. Winners will be announced annually in January. Winners will receive $1,000, and an award. If a group or team is selected as a winner, each person will receive $1,000.

AWARD CATEGORIES FREDERICK S. WITHUM OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: This award honors and celebrates the tenacious spirit that drives individuals to continuously put forth the extra effort needed to meet their personal goals and achieve success for the Firm. Recipients exhibit dedication, excellence, a positive attitude, and a willingness to continually go above and beyond that which is expected at their job level. They may exhibit creativity, innovation, ingenuity, and/or profound determination as they convert promising ideas or outstanding performance into major Firm initiatives or accomplishments. Like Fred Withum himself, these individuals successfully realize their vision by demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit, employing a strong work ethic and an unwavering resolve to put both themselves and the Firm in a position of strength. NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Nomination endorsement by the PIC and/or niche leader. 2. Has exhibited dedication, excellence, attitude, and willingness to go above and beyond that which is expected at their job level. 3. Has exhibited creativity, innovation, ingenuity, or profound determination while converting promising ideas or outstanding performance into a major Firm initiative or accomplishment. Nominations submitted in the five other Strength Award categories will automatically be considered for this award. WITHUM ADMINISTRATIVE STRENGTH AWARD: An employee recognized for this award has demonstrated consistent and outstanding internal client service, professionalism, and performance and commitment to the job that is consistently outstanding and often outside the normal scope of prescribed duties. The recipient has exhibited leadership qualities within the context of the responsibilities of the position, including demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness or has utilized their extensive knowledge, experience, and talent to provide first class service to their clients other staff of Withum. Through his or her efforts and dedication they have helped put the staff they support, as well as the Firm, in a position of strength. NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Award is open to non professional staff, below Director. 2. Endorsement by PIC, Niche leader, or Director of a practice area/department. 3. Demonstrated outstanding performance as reflected in year end performance reviews. 4. Within the past year has made an extraordinary impact to a process, procedure, or policy that has resulted in improved efficiency for the staff they support.

AWARD CATEGORIES WITHUM MARKETING STRENGTH AWARD: This award recognizes outstanding achievement in sustained marketing excellence and new business development. The recipients of this award have demonstrated strength in driving new business to the Firm and have distinguished themselves from others through their commitment to helping Withum grow, succeed and prosper. They are truly an asset to the Firm and have helped to put Withum in a position of strength. NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Endorsement by the PIC or Niche leader. 2. Has brought in business as a result of their focused efforts. 3. Proven ability to adhere to one Firm concept and has participated in cross selling other offices or niches. 4. Demonstrated creativity in generating business or business relationships. WITHUM INNOVATIVE STRENGTH AWARD: Employees recognized with this award have demonstrated a proven ability to create, nurture and improve Firm processes, methods and procedures. They have enhanced the strength of the Firm through their exceptional ability to think outside the box. NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Endorsement by the PIC, Niche leader, or Director of practice area. 2. Within the past year, has conceived and developed a new process, service, or industry focus that improves the Firm s delivery of quality service; they may have improved or promoted efficiency by generating a new and better way to solve a business problem or even improved or promoted efficiency by driving and implementing useful change. 3. Must show how their out of the box new methods, protocol, or marketing tactics to execute the service/industry are exceptional vs. other Firms or standards. 4. Ability to demonstrate how their idea or service has solved a major issue; show quantifiable results. LEONARD H. SMITH STRENGTH OF CLIENT SERVICE AWARD: This award recognizes consistent and outstanding client service and professionalism. Just as Len Smith excelled at treating clients as his highest priority as well as being their trusted advisor, the recipients of this award have done the same. They have increased both client satisfaction and retention by exceeding client expectations with their extensive knowledge, experience, and talent to provide them with first class service. NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS: Endorsement from the PIC that that the nominee/recipient has excelled in one or more of the following: 1. Has made an extraordinary impact to client s operations, such as a significant savings to the client since this person has been on the job; 2. Is actively involved in client relationship activities/business development outside normal job responsibilities; 3. Proven track record of consistently positive SPEAD evaluation ratings in client service excellence categories; 4. Has brought in additional revenue from a client engagement based on their ability to retain & grow the client relationship. Additionally, the nominee must have at least one client testimonial/endorsement which attests to the nominee s client service excellence

AWARD CATEGORIES WITHUM COMMUNITY STRENGTH AWARD: Employees honored with this award have demonstrated a significant contribution to their community, through volunteer work and charitable initiatives, that have positively impacted the community. Their time and effort have generated outcomes that have had lasting benefits in the areas which they have served. Through numerous philanthropic endeavors, they have helped put their communities in a position of strength. Nomination requirements: 1. Endorsement from the leader of a community service organization in which they were active, attesting that they have served at least 40 hours of community service within the fiscal year AND/OR have developed a major initiative/activity that has a significant impact on the community and/or Firm s social consciousness; 2. A plus if can demonstrate quantifiable and/or qualitative results as a result of their participation in the initiative such a measurable increase in revenue to charity, an increase in donations or number of active members, or an increase in participation in the activity due to the person s involvement. NOMINATION PROCEDURES To nominate someone for a Withum Strength Award: 1. Complete a Nomination Form (see next page). 2. Be sure to follow nomination requirements as outlined above. The more supporting documentation you provide the stronger the nomination will be. 3. Attach additional supporting documentation and/or endorsements, if applicable. 4. Submit to PIC for review and consideration, keeping in mind that the nomination must be submitted to HR by close of business November 15th.
