Thermofilm range meets all standard card materials needs in the smart card industry. G175 is the unique product giving high bonding strength on PET-F. G185 is showing very high bonding performance on PV and S allowing destruction of the module when manual removal. Embedding process parameters are important to get full Thermofilm range performance. G175 exhibits high and consistent bonding on a wide range of temperature and can be used particularly on heat sensitive substrates. G185 high performance is directly linked to an elevated temperature of > 190 during manufacturing process.

Thermofilm - product process conditions and performance pplication to primary substrate: Unwind G160 or G161 product and combine the adhesive side to the surface of the substrate that will be laminated. This should be done by using a heated squeeze roll or other heated method which ensures firm pressure and intimate contact of the adhesive film and the substrate. Minimum temperature of 80 during few seconds is r ecommended for lamination. pplication to secondary substrate: Peel off the protective release liner and apply the adhesive side to the desired surface using heat and pressure. Peel strength and holding power will vary according to the quality of the substrates (thickness and material), temperature, dwell time and pressure. Minimum temperature of 120 during 30 seconds is r ecommended for bonding. Product will exhibit good performance as soon as cooled at room temperature. However, maximum adhesion values are met after 48 hours of full crystallisation.
