About us Longfield Academy Trust was established in 2011 and the Rydal Academy joined in 2012. Since joining the Trust the school has been on an upward trajectory and achieved a Good judgement by Ofsted in 2016. Advert Lunchtime Support Assistant Grade E ( 4,071 to 4,106 per annum) Part-time/Term-time only 11.25 hours per week, 11.10am to 1.25pm Monday-Friday To commence February 2018 We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team of Lunchtime Support Assistants. You will work as part of a team which supervises and ensures the safety and welfare of pupils over the lunch period. Duties will include serving meals to pupils and encouraging the development of social skills and good manners. To succeed in this role you will be able to engage pupils in a positive manner, have good oral communication skills and an understanding of basic food hygiene. Job description Job Title: Location: Salary: Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant The Rydal Academy Grade E Working Weeks: Aims of the Post: Main Responsibilities Term time only (38 weeks per annum) To supervise and secure the safety and welfare of pupils within the School over the lunch period To supervise pupils in the dining hall and across the school To assist with food service in the dining hall and ensure that pupils receive their chosen meals To encourage the development of social skills among the pupils i.e. eating properly, good manners To clean up spillages on tables and floors and clear food trays and cutlery To ensure good order and discipline within the policies of the School To encourage skills of self-discipline i.e. how to move around the School, socialising with others, by the use of positive rewards etc. To support the behaviour policy of the School by reinforcing acceptable behaviours in non-structured situations To ensure pupils eat in a socially acceptable manner To monitor behaviour in cloakroom (and toilet) areas To monitor movement around the School To assist with first aid, within the scope of the post-holder s training, and report all injuries ensuring pupils receive appropriate care and attention when sick or injured To report any problems regarding pupil behaviour to the Assistant Headteacher To safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils for whom you have responsibility and come into contact with, to include adhering to all specified procedures.
