The Charter outlines a framework for career management for researchers, by outlining the roles, responsibilities and entitlements of researchers and their employers or funding organisations. The Code aims to

improve recruitment, to make selection procedures fairer and more transparent and proposes different means of judging merit. These documents detail 40 good-practice principles for researchers and employers and/or funders of researchers.
