Co-organizer: International Waste Working Group The International Conference on Waste Management and Technology (ICWMT) is
an important platform for specialists and officials to discuss scientific problems related to solid waste management, exchange experiences, and to look for innovative solutions. Initiated by Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific and approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People s Republic of China, ICWMT has been held 11 times since its inception in 2005. On a yearly basis, ICWMT attracts a great number of participants from the governmental units, top research institutes, prestigious universities and industrial enterprises at home and abroad. Around 60 acknowledged experts from all over the world delivered impressive speeches during the ICWMT 11. For the year 2017, the ICWMT 12 will be held in China from the 17 th to the 20 th of October. Themed with Overall Control of Environmental Risks, prominent researchers and government officials will be invited to give keynote speeches on the pressing issues of solid waste management during the conference. The ICWMT 12 provides an excellent chance for the participants from industry and academia to keep up-to-date with the latest trends of solid waste management. The selected outstanding papers will be published by the Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering (FESE) Journal in a special issue on Recycling Materials from the Waste Electrical Electronic Equipments (WEEE). Technology Fair A technology fair will be organized during the conference where enterprises related to solid waste treatment make exhibitions and presentations. This session aims to promote the information and technology exchange among different delegates. The suggestions from participating companies will serve as important references during the
solid waste management and policy making in China. Enterprises that are interested in making exhibitions during the conference can contact the organizing committee for more detailed plans of cooperation. Poster Display and Oral Presentation The authors are encouraged to present the academic posters of their papers during the poster display session or make oral presentations of their papers during the parallel sessions of the conference. The audience s feedback on the posters will partially impact on the selection of the outstanding papers. The authors of the selected outstanding papers will be awarded by the members of the steering committee. Technology visits Free technology visits to hazardous waste treatment plants will be organized by the ICWMT 12. Language English is the official language of the conference and simultaneous Chinese- English interpretation will be arranged during the plenary session of the conference.
