Transformation At the end of 2014, Glasgow risked losing two long-standing sporting institutions. That s why brothers Michael and Gerry Facenna local men who own nearby Allied Vehicles stepped in to save both the Tigers and Ashfield Juniors FC, whose stadium they shared. 5 Following a 1.7 million first phase investment a historic but run-down football ground has been transformed into an excellent modern venue - the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium. Sport in the Community The redevelopment at Ashfield has created a modern sporting venue which is the talk of British speedway. This transformation has also opened the door to new sports and learning opportunities in what is one of the most deprived areas of Glasgow. A new charity Ashfield Development Trust will work with local partners to provide health and activity programmes from pre-school to retirement age.
