Presentation Agenda Introduction to IPR IPR Products & Services RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process Spartanburg, SC project review
IPR Overview Standard Services Provided: Cured-In-Place Pipe: Standard, Pressure and Potable Pipe Bursting Water Bursting Spiral Wound EcoCast Lining Inspection & Cleaning 24/7 Emergency Response
Benefits of Trenchless Solutions Cured In Place Pipe Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP) CIPP is the #1 trenchless technology used in the US for rehabilitation of sewer pipelines Involves inserting a felt tube, saturated with a thermosetting polymer into the damaged pipe. Steam heat is used to expand and cure the tube creating a new, longlasting liner inside the pipe. IPR installs more than 1.5 million LF annually
IPR Products & Services RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process: Water & Pressure Pipes Repairs pipes from 6-36 NSF/61 Approved for drinking water Olin epoxy; environmentally safe & Styrene-free
IPR Products & Services RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process: Over 20 years experience and 40 million feet installed RS Lining Systems first introduced RS Technik by HammerHead technology to the Americas in 2005. In 2011, RS BlueLine product received NSF61 certification for potable water and first installations took place in Canada and the USA. In 2016, HammerHead Trenchless Equipment acquired RS Lining Systems expanding equipment, services and solution offerings for pipe repair and replacement.
RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process Quick Look RS Blueline: Application Potable pressure Resin - MaxPox 8D/480D Epoxy Styrene-free Liner - Fiberglass reinforced needle felt tube with polyolefin coating Water or controlled air inversion Pulled in place with controlled air inversion of calibration hose Curing Processes hot water or steam
RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process Quick Look RS CityMain: Application Non-Potable pressure Resin - MaxPox 8D/480D Epoxy Styrene-free Liner - Fiberglass reinforced needle felt tube with polyolefin coating Water or controlled air inversion Pulled in place with controlled air inversion of calibration hose Curing Processes Hot water or steam
RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process Materials Climate controlled storage and work area Equipment Computer controlled mixing unit with static mixers and fail safe for emergency stop Computer controlled system to regulate resin temperatures. Data Logging Vacuum system for liner impregnation Integrated calibration roller Installation and Maintenance Fully Compliant with ASTM F2994 Engineered processes and procedures
RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process Data Logging Logged in short time intervals (typ. 10 secs) Stored on a USB flash drive and backed up on an SD Card Batch files are downloaded and imported into an Excel spreadsheet template for reporting Remote Communications Remote monitoring, programming and troubleshooting by factory technician or contractor s personnel Real Time Data Logging
RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process CIPP Pressure Pipe Considerations Pipe diameter and thickness - Operating pressure Site access Existing pipe condition and alignment - Cleaning requirements - Bends, offsets Project scope - Economies of scale Quantity and location of setups Line depth - Access pits
RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process CIPP Pressure Pipe Considerations Fittings - End seals - Service connections - Bends, valves, FHs, etc Temporary water service - Above ground temporary pipeline designed for the system capacity and distribution needs. Testing requirements - Hydrostatic testing - ASTM F1216: 1.5 times operating pressure OR operating pressure plus 50 psi (whichever is less) Traffic control
RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process Design Considerations Application: potable water and sewer Pipe Type: DI, CI, PCCP, AC, PVC and more Pipe Condition: Access: small pit (5 x5 ) at valves, hydrants, bends Bends: up to 45 degrees Up to 10 deflection Installation lengths: by project, average 300-500 feet

RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process Finishing End Seals: The flanged ends are re-coupled in-line with a new short spool piece of pipe. Pipe Flanges: Prefabricated flange pieces are attached and secured to the host pipe. Liner Installation: The liner(s) are installed and cured. The liner is trimmed back inside the flange pieces.
RS Technik by HammerHead Advanced CIPP Process Objectives for Pressure Pipe Rehab Stop water loss / leaks Structurally renew existing pipeline Improve hydraulic characteristics Extend service life of existing pipeline Improve water quality Equipment Process Materials
RS Technik by HammerHead Spartanburg, SC Project Details: Heavy traffic area downtown Spartanburg Railroad crossing splits ROW from City and DOT Water main breaks within 12 months made rehab time critical Project must be completed by June 30 1800 Class IV structural liner 10 diameter DIP By-pass and temp water required for fire service & several businesses
RS Technik by HammerHead Spartanburg, SC
Completed on-time and on budget! Took 5 installations longest 350 ft. Short runs due to DOT and Railroad Line was inverted following ASTM F1216 Cured utilizing ASTM F2994 (~ 6 hours) 6 man crew
Passed hydrostatic test with flying colors! No discernible leakage at hydrostatic pressure test: 150psi for 1+ hour No businesses shut down during project By-pass utilized storm sewers, hardly noticeable
