Over the years, the Council has been involved in such diverse issues as higher education, PreK-14 education, economic development, tort reform, transportation, inner city revitalization, civil service reform, and water management. Essential Position Functions: Conducting policy research and analysis of issues of importance to the Council Identifying, summarizing, and communicating key developments regarding topics of interest to the Council Assisting with the development of Council work product, including reports and communication documents Working with subject matter experts and stakeholders external to the Council as it relates to Council topics of interest and work product Assisting with general Council functions, including meeting facilitation and website content management Ability and willingness to occasionally work overtime, including nights and weekends, as needed Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, economics, finance, management, public administration, social science, or other qualitative or quantitative analysis and research field Desired Experiences and Skills include: Ability to use multiple information sources to research and synthesize research relating to complex policy and governmental issues Ability to perform and integrate multiple types of analysis, preferably including statistical, economic, legal, and policy Ability to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively, including the summarizing of complex issues Walking knowledge of current affairs, especially relating to state government policy, organization, and functions Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
