POSITION IDENTIFICATION AND POSITIONSUMMARY The Vice President for Advancement is responsible for the advancement and overall operation of the Foundation for State Technical College of Missouri (State Tech). This is a non-tenured salaried position involving the performance of executive management functions. This position is a valuable team member in a shared governance work environment. The Vice President for Advancement serves as the development officer and as such is responsible for the fund-raising activities that include grant writing, solicitation of funds, corporate donations, major gift campaigns, scholarships, operating funds, alumni relations, and public relations. The position is also responsible for special projects as assigned including the advancement of institutional priorities. The employee in this position is expected to exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment in the performance of assigned responsibilities. This is an exempt, non-faculty 12-month "Executive" position. This is a "Safety Sensitive" position. II. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS A. Within State Tech thisposition: 1. Reports to the President of the College and is a member of the President's Leadership Team. 2. Supervises the staff in the Office of Advancement and Development. 3. Is directly involved with all departments of the College. 4. Is directly involved with the Foundation for State Tech Board of Directors.

B. Outside State Tech this positionmaintains: 1. Relationships with other organizations/agencies 2. Business & Industry - Statewide and beyond as appropriate. 3. Philanthropic Community - Nationwide. 4. Alumni of State Technical. 5. Secondary Education - Statewide. 6. Local Community. III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position is responsible for the direction, coordination, development, implementation, and accounting for: Fundraising activities including grant writing, solicitation of funds, corporate donations and relationship building, scholarships and scholarship fund management, operating funds, alumni relations, etc. Providing recognition of donors through stewardship, permanent displays, publications and special events. Establishing, growing, maintaining, and utilizing relationships with the alumni association. Annual fund program to include cultivating and stewarding gifts from local corporations, foundations, alumni, employees and friends of the College. Special events associated with the FoundationOffice. Capital campaign (as planned with the college and foundation) including overseeing and directing its progress and follow through. Cultivating the Foundation's prospective donors and current donors to maximize contributions. Managing the Foundation's endowment, financial and fiscal process. Formalizing a planned giving program with a strategy for marketing the program (i.e. workshops, direct mailings). Engaging regularly with volunteers and friends of the College. Attending social events local and statewide to engage with potential donors and establish relationships Overseeing the concept/design and coordination of the process for the production of external communication tools for the Foundation (i.e. newsletters, campaign pieces and other marketing materials). Managing the work of the Foundation Board of Directors through a decentralized committee structure to accomplish goals set forth through a strategic plan. Developing annual performance goals with the President that reflect this job description as well as a personal and professional growth plan. Working within a shared governance process.

Providing leadership and support in the areas of regional accreditation as appropriate. Providing support to fellow Leadership Team members on projects needing collaboration. Communicating needs to constituencies in a clear and timely manner. Responding to requests from constituencies in a timelymanner. Performing other duties as assigned by thepresident. IV. ACCOUNTABILITIES The VP for Advancement for State Tech is accountable for: Related budget items. Development and maintenance of fund-raising levels. Communication of needs to fellow administrators in a clear and timely manner. V. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Baccalaureate Degree required. Demonstrated administrative/executive skills. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to perform the tasks associated with the position. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write grants, reports, correspondence, fund-raising letters procedures, and other relevant documents. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, parents, Leadership Team, clients, supervisor, faculty, staff, students and other employees of State Tech. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply accounting principles, such as bookkeeping, income statements, balance sheets to submit budgets. A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of the above. B.
