Polish pig sector * Have been facing a drastic drop down in number of pigs and number of sows since 2007 * Is not competitive on the common market * Polish authorities regard any modern and commercial type of pig farming as an industrial type it is very difficult to get a permission to expand or build new pig facilities * ASF cases in wild boars and pigs in Poland have been found since the beginning of 2014 * Russian ban on export of pigs and pork meat * Pig castration and stricter welfare regulation
