Beyond Gate - DP WORLD INTERMODAL IN BRIEF Why DP World Developed Rail Transport? Keeping in view infrastructural constraints in India and our limitations till gate services, we envisioned to provide end to end service by rail transport. In 2007 we gave the vision a true state. This has helped in the planning of the entire supply chain to be done reliably as the scope of services are not limited to the liners / vessel owners but offers solutions to the consignees, shippers and manufacturers too. DP World Intermodal, part of the DP World Group, was set up and registered as Container Rail Road Services Pvt Ltd (CRRS). CRRS formally commenced its business operations in October 2007. DP World Intermodal Owns a category 1 License issued by Indian Railways, to run container trains from any port in India to all ICD locations in the Hinterland. CRRS owns 315 BLC Wagons which form Seven Rakes each of 45 wagons.

Advantage of Rail Transport over Road Transport Safety of Cargo and containers. Higher weight carrying capacity of 31MT / teu and not limited to 23 MT/ teu as in the case of most road movement. Movement of 90 container teus per train resulting in time saving. Movement of even 180 container teus in a single movement in certain selected circuits. Circuits will increased with the planned DFC coming into existence. No delays as compared to road transport where the trailers are subject to delays & costs at various check points en-route. Eco friendly and energy efficient mode of transport. Over reduction in costs & time saving through Rail mode of transport. 10
Advantage of Rail Transport over Road Transport cont Faster Inland Transit Fastest possible access to hinterland, significantly reducing the transit time for moving cargo to and from inland container deports (ICD). Reliable and Time-Definite Designed to minimize the choke-points that could hamper supply chain, and provide the most efficient and reliable rail transportation to meet your just-in-time supply chain needs. Synchronized Ship and Train Schedules First and Last Mile Connectivity For added convenience we have trucking solutions to facilitate the movement of cargo to and from ICD s to customer's premises. The Trusted Name in Global Transportation 11
