SPECIFICATIONS Steri-Quartz B system shall be a 1/16-3/16 medium traffic, decorative floor that consists of a high solids, moisture tolerant primer, a textured impact resistant bodycoat, a UV stable topcoat, and Sealer 30, a clear satin, UV stable sealer. 1

Steri-Quartz B is manufactured by Dudick, Inc. and applied in accordance with the manufacturer s recommendations. THE STERI-QUARTZ B SYSTEM Steri-Quartz B consists of a moisture tolerant primer, broadcast color quartz bodycoat and a UV stable topcoat. This total system provides a strongly bonded monolithic floor with excellent physical and mechanical properties. Steri-Quartz B is only intended for interior applications and consists of the following components. Primer: The prepared concrete surface is primed to provide the wetting out required for good bonding. Steri-Quartz B bodycoat can be applied while the primer is tacky. Do not allow primer to puddle. Bodycoat: The textured impact resistant bodycoat of Steri-Quartz B develops a cured strength 2-3 times that of concrete, therefore, providing exceptional durability and prolonging the life of the concrete substrate. Topcoat: Steri-Quartz B is also utilized as a UV and chemical resistant topcoat. Two coats of Steri-Quartz B may be necessary depending upon the approved specified texture of the finished Steri-Quartz B flooring system. OPTIONAL SEALERS For improved UV stability, abrasion, stain resistance and chemical resistance. A Sealer can be applied over Steri- Quartz B. Consult Dudick for best options. Cove: For cove work, follow the recommended installation methods in the Steri-Cove Gel section. This resin system functions as Primer, Bodycoat resin, and Grout resin and is specifically formulated for cove base applications. ESTIMATING QUANTITIES AND ORDER BILL OF MATERIAL THEORETICAL SQUARE FEET PER GALLON at 1/16 ** PRIMER 67 Primer See specified Primer Data Sheets STERI-QUARTZ B Bodycoat 80-100 ft 2 unit* per 1/16 lift Medium Broadcast Quartz Aggregate.75 lb. / ft 2 per 1/16 lift Topcoat 80-100 ft 2 Optional: Sealer *This unit does not include quartz aggregate. Consult your Dudick representative for information on pricing and sourcing of quartz aggregate. **Quantities shown are for estimating purposes only. Coverages will vary due to porosity of the substrate. All quantities are estimated and will be affected by job conditions and workmanship. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS SURFACE PREPARATION Concrete must be prepared mechanically to remove surface laitance. Oils, grease or other contaminant must be removed prior to surface preparation. Concrete must be free of curing compounds and form release agents. Surface texture should be similar to 60-80 grit sandpaper or the visual standard, CSP-3 from the International Concrete Repair Institute. The prepared surface should have a nominal tensile strength of 250 PSI per ASTM D7234. All concrete substrates must be checked for moisture prior to primer application using the Plastic Sheet Test per ASTM D4263. Additional surface preparation will be required if a 60-80 grit texture is not achieved and the surface laitance not completely removed with the first mechanical preparation procedure. Abrasive blasting removes laitance, exposing honeycombs or voids beneath the surface which can be filled with Scratch Coat 300. (Refer to separate product bulletin) ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Temperature of the concrete substrate must be between 50ºF and 110ºF. Relative humidity must not exceed 90%. Substrate temperature must be 5ºF above the Dew Point. PRIMING The following Primers are compatible with Steri-Quartz B: Primer 67, Primer 67LV, Primer 67DPLV, Primer 67DTO & Primer 60. 2

Prior to adding Component B, mix Steri-Quartz B Component A for 1-2 minutes to assure that any filler which may have settled is dispersed. Combine the A and B Components and stir mechanically for approximately 2-3 minutes. Thoroughly scrape the sides and bottom of the container and remix for another 30 seconds to achieve a uniform consistency. Pour the Steri-Quartz B mix directly onto the primed concrete. The mix should be spread to a 15-mil thickness with a serrated squeegee, notched trowel or gauge rake. After spreading the material to the proper thickness, roll with a 3/8 nap roller in a cross-hatch pattern. Broadcast with either a mechanical sprayer or by hand in a rainfall pattern into the wet bodycoat to complete saturation (approximately.75# per square foot of medium broadcast quartz aggregate). Once cured, remove excess aggregate with heavy-duty industrial vacuum cleaner. This will produce a 1/16 thick topping. If additional thickness is specified, repeat the above steps. When a 1/8 or 3/16 thickness is required, it is recommended that the application be made in successive lifts. Using two or three broadcast lifts assures greater uniformity in both thickness as well as aesthetic quality. Add the correct amount of Component B and mix for one minute. Apply evenly by roller or squeegee. Apply in 5-10 mil increments to desired texture. STERI-COVE GEL PRIMING Priming with the Steri-Cove Gel is an important step prior to applying the cove matrix. The gel texture helps the mixed cove material to hang on the vertical surface. STERI-COVE GEL MIX RATIO (BY VOLUME) FOR PRIMING Steri-Cove Gel Component A 85 oz. Steri-Cove Hardener Component B 43 oz. Use a disposable brush to apply a thin coat on the vertical surface as well as the appropriate horizontal area which will be part of the seamless cove base. Apply the mixed Steri-Cove Gel Bodycoat matrix over the wet primed area. (Note: If the primer cures before the matrix is applied re-prime.) 3

BODYCOAT MIX RATIO (BY VOLUME)* *1 gallon of mixed liquids (mixes 2:1 by volume) per 50 lb. bag of aggregate. Note: Steri-Cove Gel can be used with any of these aggregates: pre-blended color quartz (trowel or broadcast grade), solid color quartz (trowel or broadcast grade) or EA-1 aggregate. Steri-Cove Gel Component A Steri-Cove Gel Component B 50 lbs. of aggregate 85 oz. 43 oz. Prior to adding the aggregate, combine the A and B Components and stir mechanically for approximately 2-3 minutes. Thoroughly scrape the sides and bottom of the container and remix for another 30 seconds to achieve a uniform consistency. Gradually add the aggregate, mixing continuously until a uniform mortar is achieved. Trowel up wall with straight edge trowel. Place extra mortar in radius and smooth with small radius coving trowel, approximately 1/2" radius. GROUT COAT: STERI-COVE GEL MIX RATIO (BY VOLUME) AS GROUT COAT 2:1 by volume Steri-Cove Gel Component A Steri-Cove Hardener Component B 85 oz. 43 oz. Apply with a disposable brush to excess. Follow with a flat squeegee to remove excess. Allow to cure overnight and repeat (if necessary) for second coat. NOTES Important - With all epoxies after priming and before each additional coat, examine the surface for amine blush (oily film). If present, remove by washing with warm water and detergent. The pot life of Steri-Quartz B system components will depend upon the temperature. To prevent material waste and avoid damage to equipment, do not mix more material than can be used according to the corresponding chart. Do not attempt to store mixed material. Residual material should be properly disposed of at the end of each work period. Application of Steri-Quartz B system in direct sunlight may lead to blistering, pinholes, or wrinkling due to outgassing of air in the concrete and high substrate temperatures. Double priming, shading or evening application may be required. Consult a Dudick representative. Steri-Quartz B system is intended for interior use only. CLEAN UP Use S-10 Cleaning Solvent, MEK & Acetone to clean tools and equipment. DO NOT USE LACQUER THINNER. SHIPPING Refer to Material Safety Data Sheets. STORAGE Warning: All Dudick products classified by DOT with white, yellow or red labels must not be mixed or stored together as an explosive reaction can occur. All products should be stored in cool, dry area, away from open flames, sparks, or other hazards. When properly stored in their original, unopened containers at 50 F-75 F, Primers and Steri-Quartz B components will have a six-month shelf life.
