Italian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association 28/02/2018

Who we are The strong voices of Italian industries and research institutes involved in the hydrogen and fuel cell sector that aim to ensure the development of the market in Italy and affirm its leading role worldwide. Industries Research groups and Local authorities Network 28/02/2018 H2IT-Associazione Italiana per l'idrogeno e le Celle a Combustibile 2

Our Goal Promote the technological progress and the development of the market related to the systems for the production, storage and use of hydrogen Specific Objectives Create the political and regulatory conditions for the development of hydrogen mobility Promote the development of hydrogen through private participation Involve public bodies to decide to invest in hydrogen Support the govern in designing clear regulatory measures specifically addressed to hydrogen Bridge the lack of decision makers knowledge and awareness of hydrogen as an option to contribute to the decarbonisation pathway Creating synergies between industries and research organizations Raising public awareness and social acceptance through conferences, workshops and events 28/02/2018 H2IT-Associazione Italiana per l'idrogeno e le Celle a Combustibile 3

H2IT in action H2IT pushes the development of hydrogen infrastructures to create the conditions for hydrogen mobility to spread in Italy. This is why in 2015 the Project Hydrogen Mobility Italy took off MH2IT developed a National Plan for Hydrogen Mobility, which the Ministry of Economic Development has integrated into the National Strategic Framework for alternative fuels, in line with the Directive 2014/94 / EU. Italy will have to deploy an adequate number of refuelling stations to allow the circulation of fuel cell powered vehicles on the territory by December 31, 2025. The plan includes a series of scenarios related to the number of cars and refuelling stations, and relative quantities of hydrogen to produce, estimating costs and incentives. 28/02/2018 H2IT-Associazione Italiana per l'idrogeno e le Celle a Combustibile 4

Hydrogen Mobility Italy Scenario Sales scenario cars: introduction of 1,000 cars by 2020, and then reach a stock of around 27,000 by 2025 (0.1% of the Italian vehicle fleet), about 290,000 to 2030 (0.7% of the Italian vehicle fleet) and about 8,5 M (20% of the Italian vehicle fleet) to 2050. Sales scenario buses: introduction of 100 buses by 2020, then reaching a stock of about 1.100 to 2025 (1.1%of the total stock), about 3,700 to 2030 (3.8% of the total stock) and about 23,000 to 2050 (25.0% of the stock total). Scenario MH2IT stock FC cars Infrastructures deployment scenario to 2050: 10 new hydrogen refuelling infrastructures for passenger cars and 10 new for buses planned by 2020. The number will progressively increase to reach over 5000 for cars and over three hundred for buses to 2050. Where are we going? H2IT aims at becoming a National and International reference point, locally supporting industries and organization in the FC&H sector and connecting Italy to Europe H2IT is convinced it is important to take advantage of the positive and increasing attention of European and International institutions and operators to hydrogen and related technologies H2IT is present to support Italian industries in the path towards the development of the hydrogen economy in Italy and in Europe H2IT collaboration with policy makers, national authorities and politicians is fundamental for a concrete action on several fronts H2IT is growing with new important members in its board and an increasingly number of stakeholders is interested to join the association. Doors are open to new key players H2IT wants to be present at European level and collaborate with the FCH JU, Hydrogen Europe and all the international organization involved in the sector H2IT is open to worldwide cooperation H2IT is committed to contribute to train new generations and sensitizing them on environmental issues and the importance of technological innovations 28/02/2018 H2IT-Associazione Italiana per l'idrogeno e le Celle a Combustibile 7
