Currently we use on our 10.000m² factory space four press groups of four heating plates each, which allows us to manufacture up to 3500 parts per month in a single shift, and 7000 parts per month in double shift. We have experience in the sample and serial production of large carbon-fiber product batches more than 8 years. Therefore, our process is already on a very mature level. Compared to other companies in Europe and America, China has advantages in terms of labor costs. That plays a major role in very detailed handwork as for the carbon fiber parts. Furthermore, more carbon fiber raw material manufacturers are moving their facilities to Asia what allows DNK to take advantage of the proximity of other suppliers. Design & Analysis Process Design of composites In order to guarantee the highest safety of our products, we design and plan our composite parts in line with the customer s requirements, as well as with the standards directed by the aviation authorities. In practice, this means that we are achieving the most suitable geometry for the product that is best balanced between the low-weight and stress requirements. Analysis of material and stress Then design team then transforms and adapts the geometry into a suitable carbon-fiber model. Based on the stress requirements and material selection, the FEA analysis supports to decide a design, that is balanced perfectly to fulfil the static requirements with an optimized weight. Design of assembly and moulds After receiving the geometry specifications from our clients, DNK Air s design and engineering team first checks the manufacturing feasibility. The feedback from the DNK AIR team may help the customer to find the perfect product design. 6

Manufacturing Process R DNK AIR is assuring the product quality by many means. In the manufacturing process, proper material handling is necessary in order to produce flawless products. This embraces thethe complete documentation,supplier selection, the material selection, the material inspection and its storage. Moreover, the laying-up of the carbon material takes place in controlled clean rooms to protect against any material contamination and to assure that the raw materials are used within their specifications. We manufacture the needed molds in our facility with the help of highly accurate CTC machines, which allow us to minimize quality risks and to react fast and agile on customer s requirements. Our steel molds are the best choice to produce repeatable quality even in high volumes. All our machines and instruments are being calibrated and checked on a yearly basis. DNK is further experienced in using different kind of core systems like foam, honeycomb and releasable cores that minimize the weight of the product. We inspect the first sample (First article inspection) for compliance with the engineering requirements and design.
Quality Check R Quality gates, quality control and the adequate employee training are standard success criteria in our manufacturing process. To increase continuously our level of quality, we measure, label and track every product coming out of our manufacturing facilities. That allows us to learn which procedures performed the best and to provide best support to our customers.
Quality Check At the end of the manufacturing process, the products are tested with our professional and accurate in-house testing equipment and by support of professional testing agencies like SGS and the laboratories of local universities. 10
