AEROFLOAT DISSOLVED AIR FLOTATION Product description OMPAT, SIMPLE, LOW MAINTENANE, AFFORDABLE DISSOLVED AIR FLOTATION (DAF) What is the Product? Aerofloat is a unique and affordable Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) product with capacities from 7-800 Litres per minute (L/min) or 0.4-50 m3 per hour (m3/h). The Treatment Process The basic principle of the Aerofloat product involves pumping a side stream of treated effluent to an elevated pressure, dissolving air under pressure (supersaturating with air) and then allowing the side stream to decompress suddenly. This causes millions of microscopic bubbles to form as the dissolved air comes out of solution. This side stream then mixes with the incoming waste stream which has been coagulated and flocculated with suitable chemicals. The microscopic bubbles attach to the flocculated particles and float them to the surface. The system automatically pushes the thickened float off the top of the tank. Applications for Aerofloat DAF? Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is a proven and effective physical/chemical technology for the removal of oils & greases and suspended solids. The Aerofloat DAF is ideally suited for industrial and municipal wastewater streams as well as greywater treatment and/or reuse. DAF systems are commonly used for: Pre-treatment to meet sewer discharge limits Pre-treatment to reduce loading on downstream biological treatment systems Polishing of biological treatment effluent Thickening of bio solids Treatment of greywater from large residential facilities Specific industrial and municipal applications include: INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER GREYWATER Aerofloat 200 - Patented Aerofloat DAF Industrial Applications Dairy and milk products Poultry processing Meat processing Laundries and textiles General food processing Byproduct rendering Pulp and paper Plastics recycling Bakeries Beverage Municipal Applications Waste activated sludge thickening Biological solids clarification Phosphorous removal Algae removal Greywater treatment from large residential buildings MEHANIALLY SIMPLE
AEROFLOAT MOVING BED BIOFILM REATOR MBBR What is the Product? Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) process is a fixed-film/attached growth biological treatment process used for municipal and industrial wastewaters. The Treatment Process A MBBR consists of a tank with suspended plastic bio-media. Due to the shape of the media there is a large surface area to assist with bacterial growth. Oxygen for the process is provided through air spargers or lances installed at the bottom of the reactor which creates a positive Dissolved Oxygen (DO) concentration for Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) removal. A screen is placed around the outlet to keep the media within the reactor. An Aerofloat DAF is normally placed downstream of the MBBR reactor to separate the suspended biomass which breaks off the bio-media. Generally sludge recycle is not required for this process. Patent Pending MBBR lance Applications MBBR technologies can be used for wastewater treatment for many industries: food and beverage plants, dairy industries, water recycling, and any industries requiring wastewater treatment for BOD removal.
Why Aerofloat MBBR? Oxygen for the process is provided through air spargers or lances installed at the bottom of the reactor. Aerofloat has a patent pending design for its spargers which allows the spargers to be removed from the reactor while the process is still operating, without draining the tank or removing the bio media. Works efficiently in combination with the Aerofloat DAF downstream to: - Remove excess solids from the effluent - Thicken excess biomass prior to disposal - Return a proportion of the biomass to the MBBR reactor MBBR technology has become the preferred biological treatment technology because it offers several advantages over the traditional Activated Sludge processes. Also, due to lower costs and higher treatment rate, MBBR technology is preferred over Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) technology in most cases. The MBBR reactor typically removed 60-80% BOD and therefore can reduce the load to the downstream Activated Sludge process resulting in very efficient treatment with a lower footprint. Some key features of the MBBR process are provided below. Patent Pending MBBR lances Benefits Robust stable under varying load conditions producing consistent effluent quality. Efficient generates low solids and requires minimal or no polymer for solid/liquid separation ompact requires a small footprint. Typically it requires 1/3 of the space of an Activated Sludge process ost significantly lower cost then activated sludge and Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) systems. Flexible existing plants (such as SBRs) can be easily upgraded to handle higher loads. Trouble Free - easy to operate, has automatic sludge wasting, no sludge return, no issue of media clogging and no Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS)

Aerofloat engineers are happy to visit any potential sites and prepare an obligation free wastewater treatment proposal. Aerofloat 100 - Installation While results will vary depending on the wastewater being processed, typically, > 95% removal of FOG and SS can be expected with the Aerofloat DAF. Aerofloat engineers have extensive experience in the water and wastewater industry. This, together with the innovative product range, Aerofloat is able to complete a full treatment design, construct and installation option or provide advice and consultative services.
