Granite care 2 Granite is a natural material with naturally occurring variations in colour, tone, granularity, pattern etc. These variations are expected and a source of its natural beauty; every piece is unique! Granite which is crystalline in structure always has tiny pits within the surface spaces between the various mineral crystals. Granite can often have natural fissures as well, which may appear to be cracks, but are actually seams of colour. These are not structural defects and are a naturally occurring result of the immense heat and pressure which formed the granite millions of years ago. These characteristics are part of the natural beauty of stone and will not impair the function or durability of the material. A product of nature cannot be expected to look as uniform as a man-made item. Contrary to popular belief, Granite is slightly porous and can absorb small amounts of liquid and Oil. Therefore we recommend the use of coasters and mats when placing anything on the table top; this particularly applies to cold items which might have condensation on them. Any spillages should be mopped up immediately; otherwise this may result in a darker patch on the surface of the Granite. Over time (particularly in hot direct sunlight) this will dry out and the Granite will return to normal. We recommend scrubbing the area with a sponge and non-acidic detergent to remove any colour from the spillage. Citric based detergents should not be used. Alternatively, proprietary stone care kits and cleaners can be used. Please seek advice from the manufacturer before using. Neptune accepts no responsibility or liability with regard to the use of such products.
Wrought iron care 3 All of Neptune s wrought Iron products have undergone a 4 stage rust protection process: 1. Pre-treatment The product is treated in an acid bath which acts as a primer for the latter stages. 2. Galvanizing The product is dipped into a tank of Zinc which amalgamates with the base material to form a protective layer. 3. Primer This is followed by a primer coat to ensure a good paint adhesion. 4 3 2 1 frame 4. Finish Finally a powder coated finish is applied to the surface of the product. Galvanized products are renowned for being difficult to paint and due to this, even with a primer coat, we cannot guarantee against flaking or small chips becoming apparent in the finish during use. If this does occur, the metal finish will be exposed. Please be assured that this is the galvanised layer which will not rust if exposed. A small touch up paint pot is included with each product to use if necessary. If the product is severely damaged this may expose the base metal. In this instance, Neptune cannot accept responsibility for any rusting which occurs due to this. Any small stains and spillages can simply be wiped from the surfaces using warm water and household detergents. Painting Instructions You are able to paint your wrought Iron furniture with any of our Neptune paint colours. The product will need to be primed first with the Neptune Primer undercoat and once the primer has cured you are free to paint in your chosen colour. Neptune does not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage caused to the product due to treatment.

Monaco care guide 5 Resistance against weather All Neptune products are manufactured to a high standard and with a good attention to detail to ensure they last for years. However, we strongly recommend it is stored away during the winter months. All furniture (not just Neptune s) will last longer and benefit if protected from the harsh winter weather! All product must be thoroughly dried before putting into storage. All Neptune garden products are designed for outdoor and indoor use, but we do not guarantee them as being frost proof. Garden furniture covers are not always the solution as condensation can form under them and they offer insufficient protection against frost. During the summer months we recommend the use of a cover to protect the product from severe rain, as this will prolong the life of your Neptune product. IMPORTANT NOTE: All furniture should be lifted and moved rather than dragged to prevent any damage to the product or the area in which you are using them.
