24 November 2017 Industrial Price Index. Base 2010 October 2017. Provisional data The annual variation of the Industrial Price Index stood at 2.8%, seven tenths below that registered in September The monthly rate of industrial prices is 0.8% Annual evolution of industrial prices In October, the annual rate of the overall Industrial Price Index (IPRI) was 2.8%, seven tenths lower than that registered in September. By economic destination of goods, among the industrial sectors that presented a negative monthly effect in this decrease worth noting were: Energy, presented an annual variation of 4.1%, nearly two and a half points below that registered in the previous month. This was due to the price of Oil refining and, to a lesser extent, to that of Production, transport and distribution of electric power, which increased less this month than in October 2016. Non-durable consumer goods, whose rate decreased five tenths, reaching 1.7%. This rate was due to the drop in prices of Processing and preserving of meat and production of meat products, which remained stable in 2016. Also influenced, albeit to a lesser extent, by the decrease in the price of Manufacture of vegetable and animal oils and fats and Graphic arts and related services, which increased last year. In turn, the only industrial sector with a positive influence was: Intermediate goods, with a rate of 4.0%, five tenths higher than that registered in September. Worth noting in this evolution was the increase in prices of the Manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferro-alloy products and, to a lesser extent, the Manufacture of basic precious and other non-ferrous metals, which decreased in October last year.
