Gorgon Project Update: Selected Images September 25, 2012

Plant Site Construction of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant is progressing well. Once complete, the plant will comprise three trains capable of producing 15.6 million metric tons of LNG per year and a domestic gas plant with a capacity of 275 million standard cubic feet per day. 2

Plant Site: LNG Plant Modules The first LNG plant modules for the Gorgon Project have been placed in position on Barrow Island marking a significant milestone in the project s development. The two modules weigh a combined 2,894 metric tons and are the first of 51 large process equipment modules that will form Gorgon s LNG plant. 3

Plant Site: LNG Tank 1 The roof on the first of two LNG tanks recently raised into its final position. 4

Plant Site: LNG Tank 1 (continued) Once complete, each tank will hold 180,000 cubic meters of LNG at temperatures of -260 F (-162 C). 5

Plant Site: LNG Tanks Construction of the two LNG tanks is progressing well. 6

Plant Site: Condensate Storage Tank Area Construction of the four condensate tanks continues. Each tank will be 56 feet (17 m) in height, 197 feet (60 m) in diameter and will have a capacity of 38,000 cubic meters. 7

Plant Site: Pre-Assembled Racks and Units In total there will be 236 pre-assembled racks and units constructed in China and Indonesia. 8

Plant Site: Pre-Assembled Racks and Units A total of 40 pre-assembled rack modules have been delivered to Barrow Island. 9

Materials-Offloading Facility The recent completion of the breakwater for the materials-offloading facility, which will provide shelter for the heavy-lift facility during the construction phase of the project, is a major milestone. 10

LNG Jetty Foundations Emerging LNG jetty foundations are now being installed off Barrow Island. In total, 56 caissons will be placed on the seafloor to support a 1.3 mile (2.1 km) jetty that will help deliver LNG to transport vessels. The caissons weigh more than 3,000 metric tons each and vary in shape and size, ranging from about 65 to 85 feet (20 to 26 m) in diameter. 11

Construction Village Nine of the 12 accommodation clusters in the cyclone-rated construction village are now occupied. Workforce facilities now include several gymnasiums, a swimming pool, two multipurpose courts (tennis/basketball), two soccer pitches, two cricket nets, bocce, golf facilities and a music room. 12

Subsea Trees The first five subsea trees arrived in Perth in July. Testing has commenced and has already been completed for the first two trees for the Io/Jansz Field. The first subsea tree was installed in September. 13

Onshore Pipeline Heading Into Plant Site Inlet Area After the successful installation of the nine horizontal directional drilling pipes under the west coast shoreline to the gas fields, the cross-island pipeline construction continues in order to connect to the gas processing plant site. 14

Installation of the Offshore Pipelines The installation of the offshore pipelines from the west coast of Barrow Island to the Gorgon and Io/Jansz fields is progressing well. On the east coast, the domestic-gas export pipeline is also being laid and will run 61 miles (99 km) from the jetty on Barrow Island to an Australian mainland tie-in point with the Dampier-to-Bunbury gas trunk line. 15

Work on the Mainland On the mainland, clearing of the right of way for the domestic gas pipeline has been completed and preparations for welding have commenced. In addition, site clearing has commenced for construction of the domestic gas meter station, near the connection point into the Dampier-to-Bunbury natural gas pipeline. 16
