Section 1 Rooftrim Chapter 1 Rooftrim Range Anglian s market-leading range of Rooftrim products, including fascias, soffits, bargeboards, cladding and guttering have enjoyed sustained growth and success in an industry which is renowned for its competitive nature. Produced to our own specifications in our own extrusion plant in Norwich, the Anglian Rooftrim range is designed and manufactured to complement the highly successful range of windows, doors and conservatories which have made Anglian the UK s leading home improvements company. Cellular PVC-UE products are manufactured using the extrusion process using a combination of two materials. The first is a foamed PVC-UE core and the second is a durable high gloss outer skin of rigid PVC-U. Please refer to The A-Z of Rooftrim for full information on the entire Rooftrim range and details from manufacture to installation. A B D C E A) Fascias Anglian fascia boards interlock at right angles to the soffits and support the gutters, so we make sure they re strong as well as attractive. Anglian replacement fascias can be installed to a maximum height of 485mm. B) Bargeboards Anglian s high-tech replacement bargeboards look like wood and are fitted in the same way, using stainless steel pins. The main section is 10mm across, with strengthening ribs at the rear taking the overall thickness to 20mm. Where the bargeboards meet the fascias at the box ends, a special jointing clip ensures a tight, weatherproof seal. 4
Chapter 1 Rooftrim Range C) Soffits To protect the brickwork from falling rain, the roof of a modern home projects anything up to half a metre beyond the walls. This overhang is enclosed on the underside with soffits - traditionally made of timber. Anglian PVC-UE soffits look just like traditional tongue and groove boarding and can be built to any size of projection. At least one of the boards in a length of Anglian replacement soffits will include a special ventilation grille, allowing air to circulate within the roof space, reducing the likelihood of condensation in the loft. D) Guttering and E) Downpipes Replacing external woodwork also presents the perfect opportunity to change old, unsightly guttering and down pipes. The sleek, contemporary design of Anglian guttering gives the ideal finishing touch to new soffits, fascias and bargeboards. There is a choice of ogee, round or square line in white, brown, black or grey finish. F) Cladding No other home improvement product changes the appearance of a customer s home more than cladding. This is why Anglian has developed its range of white cladding products over many years to complement all styles of home. Manufactured in our own state of the art extrusion plants, Anglian can offer the customer the reassurance of a product of consistent quality and visual appeal. 5
Chapter 2 Ancillary Products In addition to the main rooftrim range we also offer ancillary products to add the finishing touch and offer further protection. Eaves Shield Anglian's Eaves Shield reduces the damage caused by the effect of decaying felt and creates double protection for timber. This unique product offers versatility on installation to cope with a variety of roof angles and situations. This multiple eaves protection system, offers durable, long life protection. Precision made to aid installation, and allow for bird comb and optional gutter protection system. This product is manufactured in-house from recycled PVC-U material. Gutter Guard Gutterguard is a gutter protection system which prevents gutters from being blocked by wet leaves. It s very easy to fit and suits domestic gutters up to 120mm wide. It s manufactured from hard wearing polypropylene mesh with durable stainless steel clips. Dry Verge All gable ends have a weak point between the tiles and the top of the wall. This is called the Verge and it has conventionally been mortared. These mortared verges are now becoming obsolete due to long term problems such as cracking and damp penetration. Dry Verge has been designed to prevent these issues and aid in maintaining a long lasting Rooftrim installation. Dry Verge also prevents entry from birds, unaffected by settlement unlike mortar verges. Water Butt A real green plus for the garden and the environment is a water butt to collect and re-use all the rainwater that would normally just go down the drains. Anglian offers a 200 litre water butt together with a diverter ready to be plumbed into a convenient rainwater downpipe. This not only saves water and help the environment but saves money too. 6
Chapter 3 Colour Finishes To give the customer more choice and the chance to complement both white and woodgrain window, door and conservatory finishes Anglian offer the following colour finishes in our PVC-U Rooftrim range: White Crisp & clean finish to our most popular rooftrim colour. Dark Woodgrain This is one of the most desirable of hardwoods and we have faithfully replicated the look but in a low maintenance, long lasting Foiled PVC-U. Golden Oak This is another option for a foiled PVC-U woodgrain finish. Black Emulating the tradition of black painted wood but with the benefits of PVC-U. White Woodgrain Crisp and clean but with an ash grain to add texture and character. 7
Chapter 4 Heritage Range The Heritage guttering and downpipe is an innovative new product designed to mimic the look of cast iron. It is made of extruded aluminium alloy, a lightweight, long life alternative to cast iron. The Heritage guttering comes in a 120mm half round beaded edge gutter with a 63mm circular downpipe system. It comes in a choice of three colours: Heritage Black: To emulate the textured appearance of cast iron. Nordic Silver: White: Has an iridescent metallic finish. Fresh gloss finish. 8
Chapter 5 Asbestos The consequences of not working with asbestos correctly are significant. Not only does it pose a serious risk to those who work with it but irresponsible removal can result in widespread contamination of property. Anglian customers are given the security of knowing that their asbestos removal is being carried out by the only Rooftrim company in the UK that since 2003 has been a Full Member of the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) and is a member of the Glass & Glazing Federation (GGF). Most people are aware that asbestos poses a risk to health. The problem is that few understand the significant difference between the various types. This risk is dependant on 2 things; the type of asbestos fibres and the type of material in which the asbestos fibres are bound. Crocidolite Also known as Blue Asbestos is very high risk and the most dangerous to health. When used in buildings it was considered the best for insulation so was widely used in military, government, and council owned properties. Amosite Also known as Brown Asbestos. It was widely used in factories, domestic properties and particularly council properties, frequently mixed with Crocidolite. Chrysotile Also known as White Asbestos is the lowest risk and the most common but is still classed as a class one carcinogen. If incorrectly handled asbestos dust can pose a serious threat to your health. As part of the Anglian survey if it is suspected that asbestos may be present, our surveyor will take a sample and photograph of the material and this is sent to an approved laboratory for detailed analysis. If the material is found to be a hazardous waste it is disposed of in a rigorously controlled and safe manner, in accordance with the Special Waste Regulations. Please refer to the Anglian Sales Portal (Product Tab-Product Brochures) for the most up to date advice and guidance on Retail Asbestos procedures. 9
