Chapter 1 Release Notes: Enterprise Server 1 Deployment Platform Support Support for VMware ESX in production environments For the Linux and Windows production environments, it s now supported to have Enterprise Server running on a VMware ESX virtual environment. Check the Infor Enterprise Server - Technical Notes for Porting Set 8.5a (U9546 US) for the conditions. Support for AIX 6.1 AIX 6.1 is now a supported operating system version with Enterprise Server. Support for Oracle 11.1 Oracle 11.1 is now a supported database version with Enterprise Server. Note: Oracle 11.1 is not yet supported for HP-UX IA64. Support for Informix IDS 11.5 Informix IDS 11.5 is now a supported database version with Enterprise Server. Note: new installs are not yet supported on IDS 11.5.

1-2 Release Notes: Enterprise Server Infor SOA Integration Infor ESB 3.x integration Enterprise Server 8.5 contains components for the connectivity with Infor ESB 3.x. The ESB LN Adapter is delivered with the Infor ESB 3.x product installer. There is no standalone installation for the Infor Open SOA for Enterprise Server. To make use of the Infor Open SOA connectivity from Enterprise Server 8.5 to Infor ESB, you need to model the properties for the ESB LN Adapter using the Infor DEM/DCA product. Upon deployment of the Enterprise model in DEM/DCA, the ESB LN Adapter will be started and the Enterprise Server instance will start publishing BOD messages, according to the DCA business routing model. To develop Business Object Document implementations for ERP LN, you need to use Business Studio 8.5. A set of BODs are being delivered with ERP LN FP5 as part of the Infor MyDay project. Infor Security integration WebTop and the Enterprise Server are enabled to integrate with Infor Security to support Single Sign-on and drill back in the context of Myday. For details, refer to the Infor Enterprise Server 8.5 Administration Guide (U8854 US). Enterprise Server Extensions WebTop 8.5 Deployment improvements (WebTop Administration Console) Note: For details about the deployment enhancements, refer to the Infor WebTop 8.5 for ERP LN Installation and Configuration Guide (U8715H US). Certificates To make Single Sign On (SSO) possible, you must add certificates to the Enterprise Server and CAS Tomcat to make both trusted to each other.

Release Notes: Enterprise Server 1-3 For details, refer to the Infor Enterprise Server Extensions 8.5 Installation Guide (U9484B US). Form Generation Form cache generation is only required for back-ends with Infor Enterprise Server 8.4.2 or lower. Enterprise Server 8.5 and higher versions do not use a form cache, because the forms are generated dynamically. Note: You cannot manually configure smart links on the web server anymore. Smart links in details sessions are not supported. Logical Id Mapping Logical Id Mapping is used to drill back from high-level data, which is displayed in Infor MyDay, to detailed data stored in the ERP environment. You can now define Logical Id Mapping for Infor Enterprise Server 8.5 and Infor ERP BaanIV environments. System requirements for web server (Linux only) For the user who starts the web server, you must set the nofile user limits (hard + soft) to 65535. Set these limits in the /etc/security/limits.conf file. Usability improvements Note: For details about the usability improvements, refer to the WebTop online Help. Customer Defined Fields WebTop users can add extra table fields without creating customizations. In this way they can store additional information in ERP LN tables. These extra fields are called Customer Defined Fields (CDF).

1-4 Release Notes: Enterprise Server General Table sessions WebTop users can now run the General Table Maintenance (ttaad4100) and the Display General Table Information (ttaad4500) sessions. Both sessions are fully supported in WebTop. For details on the usage, refer to the session help. Auto-Complete WebTop users can now configure their own auto-complete settings. A user can, for example, do the following: Activate or de-activate the auto-complete feature. In case of multiple matching entries, start a zoom session to display all matching records. Note: To trigger the auto-complete feature, users must press Tab (field validation) on a partially filled out field. Easy Restart The File menu contains a new option (Restart / Ctrl+F2) to easily restart WebTop. This is useful, for example, after a change in the user data when the bshell must load new settings. Search for text The search feature in the navigation area is improved. The path in the navigation tree where the item is found is now displayed in the search results. Navigation trees When you sign out, WebTop saves the status of the navigation panels (which nodes are collapsed/expanded) on your client PC. The next time you log on, the navigation trees are automatically restored to the saved status. Note: The navigation trees are not restored if you log on from a different PC. Enterprise Server Extensions Connector for WebServices

Release Notes: Enterprise Server 1-5 The Connector for WebServices has been introduced in the ESE 8.4.2 as an alternative to synchronous BDE calls through Infor Integration. With this new Connector, client applications can make web-service calls to BDE s developed and generated with Business Studio 8.4.2. With ESE 8.5, the Connector for WebServices has been extended to work with BOIs that have been developed for BaanIV. To deploy the BOI webservices, the jar file from the BOI Domain is used. For details, refer to the Infor ERP LN Business Adapter 8.5 Administrator's and Users Guide (U9209 US). Application Studio Multiple backend support Application Studio now supports to have activities for different development servers in the same workspace. Integration with PMC After an activity has been ended, a PMC solution can be created to deliver the changed components of the activity. This PMC solution can be created directly in the end activity process. It is also possible to create this solution later and then you can combine several development activities into one PMC solution. The steps to be executed for a PMC solution can be started from Application Studio, for example to generate the dependencies. Also an editor is provided to change the PMC solution manually, for example to add additional components or dependencies. Debugger Function arguments are shown in the debugger stack trace. Business Studio New Business Object view Business Studio has an extra view to show all BDE- and BOD implementations, which are present in the data dictionary. Functionality has been added to delete or expire the implementations.

1-6 Release Notes: Enterprise Server Component anchoring It is possible now to model the location where sub components must be stored in the XML. Reporting Studio Reporting Studio has improved error messages in case of license problems.
