This is a regular full-time position to coordinate the Tobacco Prevention and Education Program and to work with other health promotion and prevention-related program activities. Duties will include working closely with key stakeholders and community members on policy development and implementation and coordination of federal, state, and local grants. Successful candidate will oversee an annual work plan, implement community education strategies, and collect and analyze data. The position requires a bachelor s degree in health education or related field. A master s degree in public health is preferred. Requires experience or academic preparation in public health programs; excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills; and proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office Suite, Publisher, PowerPoint, or equivalent and basic office software. Other requirements include a valid Oregon driver s license, proof of auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record. Skills in social marketing, grant writing, and administration are desired. Arranges and coordinates community involvement efforts related to the program health topic, and prepare evaluations of program activities as required. Conducts initial and on-going assessment activities. Analyzes data related to county-wide health issues and populations. Communicates regularly with community health manager and co-workers. Writes grant applications as appropriate to the position. Other activities as assigned. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works within the division to maintain the division s Performance Management System. Performs regular updates on Yamhill County Public Health website program pages. Works closely with public health managers, the HHS Director, Health Officer as well as key stakeholders and community members on strategic plan development, and policy development. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: CHES or MCHES is preferred.
