Get started with SAP Mobile Secure Purpose This guide provides the information you need to get started with SAP Mobile Secure, cloud edition. Before proceeding with this document, the following activities must be completed: Define the scope relevant for your project Finalize technical prerequisites Staff and the required resources made available Audience This document is intended for system administrators and mobility consultants. As an administrator or consultant you should be familiar with SAP Mobile Secure, cloud edition, or with its components, SAP Afaria, and SAP Mobile Application Protection by Mocana. You should also be familiar with the mobile device types your organization plans to support. 2 Getting Started Registration and Subscription This set of SAP Best Practices is intended for the productive use of SAP Mobile Secure, cloud edition. Prior to activating an SAP Best Practices package (SAP BP package); you need to be subscribed to SAP Mobile Secure cloud edition. If you do not have an active subscription, use the link below to register your organization and activate your SAP Mobile Secure instance in the cloud. https://sapmobilesecure.com My Cloud Buy Now 3 SAP Mobile Secure Navigation Familiarize yourself with the SAP Mobile Secure portal. This is the place you go to manage the mobile devices of your organization and the apps that run on them. Each section explains how to help you better understand the Mobile Secure Portal. To get started, log into your SAP Mobile Secure account using the link below: https://portal.sapmobilesecure.com/login.php Upon logging in, the default Dashboard page displays as follows: Lets start by analyzing each section to familiarize you with SAP Mobile Secure Admin Portal. 3.1 Devices Under Devices, you will find a Dashboard, Administration and Settings. 3.1.1 Dashboard The Dashboard provides you an overview of your entire mobile enterprise on SAP Mobile Secure cloud. For example, it displays the different mobile operating systems and mobile carriers used. Videos and quick links are available to guide you on device enrollment, configuration, and application management. 3.1.2 Administration On the Administration web console you can create, modify, manage and analyze policies for groups of mobile devices. 3.1.3 Settings In the Settings section, you configure your Mobile Secure instance for device management. If your organization uses Apple devices, you can configure Push notifications here. For Windows Phone devices, you can configure the connection to Windows Phone server here. 3.2 Applications In the Applications section, you have the ability to configure and manage application policies. There are different kinds of application types. For example, commercial applications are applications that are publicly available through Apple App Store or Google Play. Moreover, applications can be categorized as Manage or Approve. Manage Apps are applications that are SAP SE Public Page 8 of 11
available only to managed mobile devices whereas Approve Apps are applications that are available to both managed and unmanaged mobile devices. The App Protection table encompasses the SAP Mobile Protection by Mocana solution. In this section, you have the ability to further secure an application. For example, forcing an application to be secured with a password or allow an application to be used within a geographic region (known as geo-fencing) 3.3 Analytics In the Analytics section, you can view delivered SAP reports on your mobile infrastructure. The following tow sections breaks down the types of report and provide a short description of the current delivered SAP reports. See below: 3.3.1 Device Reports SAP SE Public Page 9 of 11
Devices by platform - Provides a distribution of managed devices by operating system. Jailbreak status - Provides a distribution of managed device by jailbreak/root status Devices trend analysis - Represented as a line graph, this report shows device enrollment over time by operating system. Devices by owner - Provides a distribution of managed devices by owner, wither personal (BYOD) or corporate (Enterprise provided) Devices by OS version - Provides a distribution of managed devices across operating system version. Device by compliance status - Provides a distribution of managed devices by compliance status for each operating system. Devices by platform across Mobile Secure Cloud - Provides a distribution of devices by operating system across all Mobile Secure cloud customers. After choosing on the Analytics menu, select the Applications tab to view the following reports 3.3.2 Application Reports Apps downloaded by platform - Displays the total number of apps downloaded through Mobile Secure cloud to each OS platform. Apps trend analysis - Tracks the total number of apps downloaded over time for each OS platform. Top 10 popular apps - Provides an indication of the most popular applications installed on mobile devices by OS platform. 3.3.3 Custom Reports Moreover, in the Custom tab, you have the ability to create custom reports based on your mobile devices and infrastructure data using. For more information, please visit http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/vi01/en/lums120_user_en.pdf 3.4 Account In the Account section, you have Overview, Mobile Place, Users, Enterprise Access, and My Profile. 3.4.1 Overview The Overview of your SAP Mobile Secure account shows your customer name, account name, status, end-user acceptance date, subscription end date, and number of subscriptions purchased. 3.4.2 Mobile Place The SAP Mobile Place is a single point of destination to publish, manage applications for users and report on its content. Here you can configure end user license agreement, authentication mode, specify the browsing ability for non-managed devices, and as well as customize/branding your SAP Mobile Place. 3.4.3 Users In the Users section, you can manage users under the account, create users for various roles and manage their respective permissions. Roles such as Account Admin, Device Admin, App Catalog Admin, and Help Desk can be assigned to a user. 3.4.4 Enterprise Access Enterprise Access connects your organization s private SAP Mobile Secure instance in the cloud to your corporate network to access Microsoft Certificate Authority, SMTP, and Active Directory/LDAP. Under Enterprise Access option you configure your enterprise s connection. 3.4.5 My Profile The My Profile option contains your logon data. You can change password or edit your basic information. 4 Ready? Go!
