Website Posting Apply online Duties Public Services and Procurement Canada, Payments in Lieu of Taxes Program, requires a Senior Valuation Analyst with expertise in the real estate appraisal, assessment and property taxation. The duties include: review and establish

property values and tax classifications on federal properties for the calculation of payments in lieu of taxes; assist in the development of standards and procedures regarding legislative and valuation requirements; and client and stakeholder engagement. Intent of the process A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada in the National Capital Region with various tenures. The pool could be used to staff positions with various bilingual language requirements (bilingual imperative BBB/BBB and CBC/CBC) and various security requirements. The positions are located in Gatineau, but the pool can also be used for positions located in Ottawa. Positions to be filled: 2 Information you must provide Your résumé. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications) EDUCATION Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with

acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. AND A valid professional designation of either the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation - professional appraiser from the Appraisal Institute of Canada or the Évaluateur Agréé (EA) designation from the Order of Chartered Appraisers of Quebec or an acceptable equivalent designation such as MIMA, RIBC, AAMA, MAAS or AIMA. Degree equivalency EXPERIENCE Recent* experience in estimating property values of commercial or industrial properties for property taxation purposes. Experience in applying provincial (or territorial) legislation governing the calculation of property tax. Experience in negotiating and consulting with representatives of federal, provincial or municipal governments OR in defending opinion of property value before courts or tribunals. Experience in writing detailed appraisal or assessment reports. * Recent experience is understood as experience acquired in the last three (3) years. Knowledge of legislation impacting upon federal payments in lieu of taxes, such as the Payments in Lieu of Taxes Act and provincial assessment practices.
