GCSS-Army Transaction Guide Business Purpose The Unit Equipment Readiness List (UERL) is a report that displays the Equipment On-hand (EOH) status for only the reportable equipment from the MTOE/TDA. This report is used primarily by Property Book, S4, and Unit Supply personnel to verify the accuracy of assets reported to the Net Unit Status Report (NetUSR) system. Business Trigger Run the Unit Equipment Readiness List for a reporting organization when there is a need to view that organization's Equipment On-Hand (EOH) posture for reportable equipment. Navigating to the Transaction To begin this transaction, navigate to the GCSS-Army Portal.

Page: 2 of 23

Page: 3 of 23 GCSS Army Portal Since the Unit Equipment Readiness Listing (UERL) report can be customized according to your need, it is important to know specifically what you are looking for before generating the report. In this example, you are the PBO, S4, or Unit Supply representative preparing for the monthly Unit Status Report (USR). You must review the Equipment On-Hand (EOH) status for your organization using the UERL report. The UERL can be generated at any time and shows adjustments made by the PBO through the previous day (as it is updated nightly). In this particular example, you want to investigate your M4A1 Carbines, LIN C06935. Note: The UERL only shows reportable items, and can only be generated for the units that are authorized the equipment on their MTOE or TDA. 1. Home tab. 2. BI Launch Pad link to open SAP BusinessObjects.

Page: 4 of 23 SAP BusinessObjects In the top left corner of the screen, you can see the My Documents tab. By clicking on the My Documents tab, you can navigate to Favorites, where you will find all of your customized reports. In this example, you have not yet saved a customized UERL report, so you must create one based on the default report. Reminder: This report is created using data the SAP Business Warehouse (BW) system extracts each night from the GCSS-Army Enterprise Central Component (ECC) transaction system. The data displayed includes the previous day s transactions. The customized report can be saved in your Favorites folder for future use. Data updates occur each night, so running the report from your Favorites will reflect updates made the previous day. 3. Expand button to the left of the GCSS folder. 4. Property Book folder. 5. Double-click the Unit Equipment Readiness List list item.

Page: 5 of 23 Prompts (Dialog Box) Prompts allow you to define the scope of your report. The UERL report has a required prompt, *Force Element Hierarchy, and an optional prompt, Home PBID. Required prompts are indicated by an asterisk (*). In this example, you will search for a specific Force Element Hierarchy at the Battalion level. 6. *Force Element Hier (Mandatory) list item in the Prompts Summary section to select it. 7. [Search] field in the Force Element Hier (Mandatory) panel. 8. Type your entry in the [Search] field (for example, WH98*). In this example, the asterisk is a wild card that tells the system to return all values that begin with WH98. 9. 10. Search button to the right of the [Search] field to display a list of UICs that begin with WH98. WH98AA - CS BN BRIGADE S... list item to select it.

Page: 10 of 23 Unit Equipment Readiness List (3) Currently, the report is primarily sorted by UIC, then by Auth (Authorized) LIN, and then Sub LIN. Instead of sorting first by UIC, it is more logical for your purposes to change the report to sort first by Auth LIN and Sub LIN, and then by UIC. To do this, begin by removing the UIC column from the report. You will add it back in a later step. 16. Design tab to display additional tabs for designing your report. 17. Right-click the UIC column to display a drop-down menu. 18. Delete list item.

Page: 11 of 23 Remove table's element (Dialog Box) The Remove table's element dialog box appears, asking whether you wish to remove the column or row you clicked on. Select the Column option button. 19. Column option button. 20. OK button to remove the UIC column from the report.

Page: 12 of 23 Unit Equipment Readiness List (1) Now, add the UIC column back to the report in the appropriate position. Removing and then adding the column to the correct position is the best business practice and enables the system to properly reevaluate and recalculate the report data. 21. Available Objects button to display the Available Objects panel. 22. Drag the UIC (0DF_FORCE) folder and drop it to the left of the Nomenclature column. 23. Close Side Panel button.

Page: 13 of 23 Unit Equipment Readiness List (2) The report is now sorted in order by Auth LIN, Sub LIN, and UIC. Review the report. Then, scroll down until you reach Auth LIN C06935. 24. right side of the Horizontal scroll bar to view additional columns. 25. left side of the Horizontal scroll bar to scroll back. 26. Go Bottom button in the bottom right corner of the screen to scroll to the bottom of page 1 of the report. 27. Page: 15 of 23 Unit Equipment Readiness List (4) You can see that LIN C06935 has been assigned R97234 as a SubLIN across the units in your organization. Export the report to Microsoft Excel as required. 31. 32. Export Document As list item. 33. Excel (.xlsx) list item. 34. Open button in the dialog box at the bottom of the screen to export the report to Excel. Export drop-down button.

All standard Excel functionality is available, such as sort, print, and save. 35. right side of the horizontal scroll bar to view the right side of the report. 36. Close button in the upper right corner of the screen to return to the UERL report in SAP BusinessObjects.

Page: 17 of 23 Unit Equipment Readiness List Once the design of your UERL report is complete, save it to your Favorites to eliminate the need to create it again the next time you want to run it. Saving it places it in your Favorites folder in the My Documents tab. 37. 38. Save As list item to open the Save As dialog box. Save Menu drop-down button.
