JOB DESCRIPTION Post Senior Lecturer, Performance Arts Job Family Academic Grade 7 Role code PA001 Status Full time Contract Type Permanent Reporting to Principal Lecturer, Interim Course Leader Performance Arts, Course Leader BA Drama, Applied Theatre and Education. AIMS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE This role will work primarily on the Performance Arts course and in addition will have responsibilities on the Writing for Performance pathway of the Drama, Applied Theatre and Education BA Degree. The role holder will be responsible for teaching students, working with colleagues to plan delivery, carrying out assessment and maintaining the currency of the subject. The role holder will work collaboratively with the course teams and maintain a focus on the quality of the students experiences throughout their time on the course. While contributing to and where appropriate leading on, assessment and planning a range of units across all three years of study, the role holder will contribute to the School s profile, through the authoring and dissemination of high quality research outcomes and the maintenance of at least a strong national reputation in Performance Arts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The range of responsibilities and duties of this role will include the following, although priorities may change in line with the development of the role and other duties may be allocated from time to time. Teaching and Learning Support To contribute to the management of the student experience and to contribute to course development processes. To teach, assess and plan a range of units as required. To be responsible for contributing to the quality of the course, contributing to writing Quality Assurance processes. Participate in continuing professional development in relation to learning, teaching and assessment (including Peer Observation of Teaching). TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Contract type Full time, Permanent Remuneration Grade 7: 45,807-50,966 pro rata per annum, including London Weighting. Eligible for annual increments, subject to satisfactory performance. The maximum amount of annual increments per Grade is 5. Employees are appointed to the first increment of the advertised pay Grade. Hours of work Location Period of notice Subject to the Working Time Regulations, full-time employees are required to work such hours as are reasonably necessary in order to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the post with minimum on-duty hours of 35 hours per week.
