NDT SERVICES Nondestructive material testing services Conventional nondestructive inspections and automated ultrasonic single- and serial inspection At your site or in our NDT Service Centre in Burgwedel (Hanover), we provide a wide range of nondestructive testing services. Accredited acc. to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 ISO 9001 and EN 9100 certified Rolls-Royce approval acc. to RRP58001, EL 2153 (1000 Gates Method) MTU approval www.vogt-ultrasonics.de

Nondestructive material inspection Support for all issues of quality assurance with our NDT services Your partner for quality assurance As a service provider we offer you a wide range of nondestructive material testing methods at your site or in our test centre in Burgwedel (Hanover). VOGT Ultrasonics is accredited acc. to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and certified acc. to EN 9100 and ISO 9001. Conventional nondestructive material testing Due to our extensive service portfolio in the field of conventional nondestructive material testing we are able to use the best inspection method and solution for your inspection task. This includes : With our scanning-systems in combination with our customerspecific and adaptable data evaluation software we are able to detect smallest material defects, visualize them, analyse them and generate an informative and clear documentation. The results include a report with all important information for the ongoing production stages, further operation of the components, determination of new inspection deadlines and particularly for the observation of damage trends and erosion progress. Visual inspection Surface crack testing, crack depth measurement, hardness testing Mechanized ultrasonic inspection with mobile scanners Digital radiography Dimensional inspection during production or receipt of goods Elaboration of inspection concepts and specifications Training for inspection processes, equipment and system handling Supervision for welding- and inspection processes and construction and much more We perform one-time or periodic nondestructive inspections of components from various industry sectors in different production levels. Rental and personnel leasing of VOGT inspection personnel We support you with our certified inspection staff (EN 473, ISO EN 9712, EN 4179) at your site. You decide: choose between the assignment as a service contract or as personnel leasing. We help you during peak periods and support you during holiday- and sickness periods. Outsourcing of your quality assurance We are your partner for the complete adoption of quality assurance tasks, carried out by outsourcing the nondestructive material testing work field to our competent inspection personnel in our test centre or at your site. Inspection of incoming and outgoing goods In the field of complex end products, where lots of single components are necessary, we support you with the inspection of the incoming vendor parts, the inspection of the parts manufactured by your company and the final inspection of the end product prior to delivery. These inspections include tests for completeness, possible damages, dimensionality, testing of the material, the hardness and surface quality as well as the checking of the provided documentation for completeness and validity. In addition, we also accompany you through external inspections performed by an authorised Inspection Agency and we ensure its correct execution. Testing and welding supervision We can provide welding specialists, technical experts approved to German pressure vessel standards or a level III supervisor at EN 473 or EN 4179 for all of your examinations, reconstructions or new constructions of pipelines. Nondestrutive material inspection Support for all issues of quality assurance with our NDT services On-site building inspection With pipeline construction in conventional and nuclear systems as well as in the oil and gas industry, we provide qualified personnel to check the incoming goods. We also prepare the preliminary examination documents and monitor the execution of the work during the installation of the components through to completion of all documentation. Special tests We also offer non-commonplace inspections in the quality assurance and periodic component supervision. Fig.: construction supervision of pipelines This includes: Material mix tests and sorting of materials Coat thickness measuring to identify the thickness of lacquer, enamel, plastic or other coverings on iron and nonferrous base materials Measurement of crack depths in the material Ultrasonic inspection of trend growth of hydrogen induced cracks in pipelines, pressure vessels or steel samples (HIC-inspection) Measurement of hardness and much more Trainings VOGT Ultrasonics offers customer-, operator- or system specific trainings for a safe and efficient handling with the ultrasonic technique: Fig.: dimensional inspection during receipt Hints for the correct inspection execution Environmental influences on inspection results Sound field determination and periodic supervision Probe selection System parametrization and systematic work Professional execution of maintenance- and service jobs and much more Fig.: training of ultrasonic inspection using an immersion inspection system at VOGT Ultrasonics

Nondestructive material inspection Automated ultrasonic inspection in our test centre Outsourcing - We can take over your single- and serial inspection We are able to adopt complete areas of your quality assurance for long-term periods. With our extensive and full-power ultrasonic inspection system plant we are flexible to assist you with different methods for single- and serial inspections of your components. Turbine disks, gear wheels, differentials, valves, bearing rings, pipes, rods, sheets and CFRP-components are just some examples of our outstanding inspection spectrum. Production accompanying automated ultrasonic inspection We take over long-term as well as short-term operations fast and safe in our test centre. If needed a 3 shift inspection is available. Due to the automation of scan processes, it is possible to test complex, rotationally symmetrical or plane parts as well as other forms on an automated basis and with only little personnel expenditure. Once set ultrasonic parameters as well as the scan resp. probe positions are memorized in the integrated computer of the testing system and they are immediately available for repeated testing. So a new and expensive setting of the testing system is not required. Testing of serial part batches at different times can be carried out quickly without any problems and at low cost. Advantages of the automated inspection using ultrasound In opposite to other nondestructive material testing methods, the volumetric ultrasound inspection with vertical and other various beam angles offers an exact localization of material faults. This allows the so called multizone-inspection. It enables an optimal fault resolution in different component depths. With our high performance immersion inspection systems we are able to detect material faults from a size of only 0.1mm (depending on the material). With scanning on the surface, surface near defects can already be detected of 0.2 mm underneath the surface. Hereby, potential faults are located and will be indicated in the inspection report with an optional A-, B-, C- or D-Scan. Using the high frequency mode, small defects and first indications of material weakening, for example WEC (White Etching Cracks), can be precisely localized. Using conventional immersion technique these defects could only be detected in progressed status. Fig.: Hall A of the VOGT test centre in Burgwedel (Hanover)

Production accompanying automated ultrasonic inspection at your site The complete ultrasonic immersion system may - if reasonable - be installed at your site for a prearranged period and be operated locally by our service personnel. Thus complex multi-axis testing systems may be installed at any place within only few days for carrying out medium-term service jobs. By having the testing systems as well as the personnel available locally at the customer s premises, the testing is carried out without further incurance of transport costs for parts or time consumption. Fig.: Automated ultrasonic inspection in immersion technique Feasibility Studies Due to our professional competence and experience in the fields of mechanised and automated material testing, we are a strong partner for you at analysing the testability of components, creating inspection concepts or selecting or planning inspection systems, which are suitable for your applications. Our feasibility studies have helped to work out the appropriate testing method for many customers. These studies can be final tests in production, serial inspections or lot testings on a random basis. A one-off test of e.g. a prototype allows us to detect material defects for future serial inspections at an early stage of development to support the prototype s development progress in a positive way and to eliminate eventual production problems for further production.
